I sometimes use a GameCube controller but besides that no. I didn't even bother with the SNES or NES controllers for switch, since they're only used for those specific games.
@SCOTTNES i think the consensus is 8bitdo controllers are probably the best modern retro controllers for the switch. See what others say, though. Nintendolife may have an article for one or more of them, perhaps a youtube video, too.
I use an 8bitdo Six button Genesis controller for retro games on my Switch. Stuff like the Genesis Collection, Street Fighter Anniversary Collection and such. Best way to play those games IMO.

Thank you most kind, The 8bitdo was the brand of controllers I was looking at and yes I heard that it’s the best company for controllers. I will check up other sources if I go and buy one too though.

This isn't true. I use the SNES controller for Mario Maker 2, as well as the NES/SNES controllers for the Mega Man, Castlevania, etc. collections. So long as you don't have to use the control stick, the SNES controller has pretty much all the other buttons! And those d-pads are FAR better than the 8bitdo controllers, in my experience. (I have the SN30 Pro and used it for a couple years before receiving the NES/SNES controllers.)
@megasean Oh, really? I never knew that. I thought the packaging for them said it could only be used for the memberships. I'll have to check out the SNES controllers and try those out since those are my all-time favorite controllers.
@Apportal It's worth it! You already know how great of a controller it is, but you will KNOW the difference once you use it. The only noticeable change vs. the original is that it's a bit fatter at the top because it's wireless ... I actually welcomed that since I always found the SNES controller to be borderline in whether it was too thin. This version is very comfortable IMO.
@megasean I have big hands so I welcome the larger top. I play a lot of 2D games, mainly indie hits, so I think I'll get it. Thanks for the recommendation!
