This is helpful to know how old people here are. As for me, I'll be old enough to vote next election.
This would be an interesting (if potentially disastrous) experiment: give one party complete control of all three branches (at least the executive and legislative ones), and see if Congress is able to actually get something done instead of arguing perpetually.
Emma Goldman: "If voting changed anything, they would make it illegal."
James Russell Lowell:"Democracy gives every man the right to be his own oppressor."

Children with no real experience in life and no real conception of things are funny. Eventually you'll grow up and realize how foolish and stupid you sounded at that age.
No, I'm 15. It's a good thing I can't vote right now because I don't know crap about fiscal problems. I only pay attention to social issues because I don't have a job.

Screw you.
I'd say if we'd abolish the electoral college, then we'd have less complaints about voting overall. Our votes would actually mean something, and we will never have another case of Bush vs. Gore.

Yeah the electoral college is bs, a popular vote would be WAY better!

Why would this particular thread be any different from others on Nintendolife?
Win.
EDIT: Regarding the Electoral College, while it is a flawed system in today's age, it does still hold some validity. The concern is that politicians would/will focus all their efforts on kowtowing to the areas with the highest population densities (e.g. New York, California, Texas), while essentially ignoring smaller population-density states and regions, who may have very different concerns than those of the higher population states.
Yet, regarding that problem, there are still blatant swing states in the mix. At least this way, the swing states would be those that have the most people, so the voices of most would be heard, rather then the voices of certain people from certain (but not all) heavily populated states.

The Electoral College is a good system created by our Founders To keep it simple a Presidential candidate must appeal to both big and small states. Otherwise a candidate could just spend his time appealing to the east and west coast States and directing federal attention to them.
To blessed to be stressed.

What Would Duane Do? Rynoggery
But there are still swing states with the electoral college. That point is redundant. And our population wasn't nearly as large when our founding fathers created the Electoral College.
all righty, hope everyone had a happy election day! :3
