Because Americans look so much like royalty from the middle east.

There's plenty of middle eastern actors out there IMO they should have cast the dude from Lost.

Even 300, historically-acurate film as it was, had the good sense to cast someone dark as the Persian king.

On-topic, I personally enjoyed Max Payne a lot because I have fantasies about Olga Kurylenko.

I also enjoyed the original Resident Evil film, and after a lot of beer, Alone in the Dark is highly entertaining.

LOL, how could i forget Mortal Kombat! I saw that in the theatre as well, and have watched it like a million times since then. Awesomeness.

I thought the first Resident Evil movie sucked balls. Okay, so maybe I was expecting something different, and maybe it's because I don't like Mila Jovavich, but it was horrible. I enjoyed the Super Mario Bros. movie better than that. Resident Evil Degeneration was pretty good, though. I liked that one a lot.

Mortal Kombat (NOT the second) and Resident Evil are the first that jump to mind (I haven't made up my mind on the 3rd, but maybe it will be redeemed with the 4th). I think I may be the only person on earth who actually liked Doom. Silent Hill wasn't bad I'm just not sure if I understood the end. I haven't actually played any of the Silent Hill games though so maybe there was some background in the games that I missed.

I don't know how comprehensive it is but here's a list I found on wikipedia:

The first Mortal Kombat movie was great. I loved that movie when I was a kid. I agree on the Animal Crossing movie too, kiddie movie, but it captured the charm of the game. Also is Tron technically a video game movie? It was inspired by games of the time. I haven't seen any of the Prof Layton movies but I'm sure they're good. I thought the Silent Hill movie wasn't bad before it devolved into a giant mess at the end, I didn't like that it starred a woman. And I thought the first Resident Evil movie was a decent action movie, though it didn't start trying to follow the plot of the games until later in the series, but the sequels all got worse and worse as they tried to make Milla Jovovich into an action star. At least the first one was more claustrophobic, the sequels were like a bad chick Mad Max remake or something. And what about The King of Kong?

King Kong was not based on a video game, Tron was not based on a video game, but if it were, it would be the best.
I also enjoyed Doom. I haven't seen enough of Silent Hill to say if it was good or not.

Eh? Why would you have a problem with a leading lady?

OH, I totally forgot about Doom and Silent Hill. I liked both of those movies, but Tomb Raider is still the best

All video game movies have been terrible but a few fall into the "so terrible it's good terrible" category (Mortal Kombat and few others).

The guy who mentioned "The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters"....yeah, that's not the same as "King Kong".

I have one not to many people have probably heard of.
"Brave Story"
I know its technically based on the book, but there were a few games on the PSP that came out before the movie did.
Also, MK is sweet (just the first one), never knew there was an Animal Crossing movie, Layton movie looks good, and they better not ruin the Prince of Persia lol.

The ultimate video game movie is definitely Street Fighter II. As for live-action, I enjoyed both Mortal Kombat movies and the Street Fighter one...

Because the whole experienced was designed to be male. The nurses representing sexual frustration, the pyramid head enemy being a giant dick, the game was centered around a male main character and the horrors he saw were based on his own psyche.
