I wonder if each season will take place in a different part of the timeline.
Season 1: Legend of the Gods & the Hero of Time
Season 2: Hyrule's Decline & The Last Hero
Season 3: The Dark World & The Hero's Descendant's
Season 4: The Hero of Wind & A New World

I'd rather it be animated since it's based on a video game. Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko would be perfect to make an animated show of Zelda.
I think that duo is cursed. They always ruin it on the last episode.

The only last episode they ruined was the Season 1 finale of Korra.
I really hope they don't limit Link's speech for loyalty to the games. It wouldn't make sense to have a character, that isn't really supposed to represent the people who will watch it.
At the same time, if Link doesn't talk for artistic direction, and it works, that wouldn't be bad either.
Why do people want Link to talk? That would end badly cause half the fans will hate him cause that's not the Link they made him out to be .And the rest will just accept it.

I agree with the suggestions that this should be a Zelda series that doesn't actually have much of Link. Just focus on Hyrule and other characters.
Considering they'rte describing it as a "kid friendly Game of Thrones", that could be possible, sidering that would normally imply some degree of political machinations, of which you normally don't see in Link's adventures...

I really didn't like pacifist Aang or Korrasami.
I'd actually be more disappointed if Aang wasn't a pacifist, myself. I mean, he more or less fought to stop conflicts in the first series...

Because when I watch a TV show, I watch for characters. Dialogue is important for a character. If Link doesn't talk, he'll likely be a bland character and if your main protagonist is bland, how does Netflix expect people to watch 6, 12, or how many episodes this series gets.

That's a double edge sword cause they can get an actor that makes Link an amazing character in this. But they can get an actor that completely ruin the character and turns you off from Link and his story. But i will admit Link needs a voice for this action live TV,but if it was animated that's a different story.
Have it voiced, but make Link a mute (he was scarred at a young age when Ganon's forces destroyed his village/family, which would also make the story more personal), problem solved.
Some holder of the triforce of courage he would be then
A grand one, indeed!
To be courageous does not mean to be fearless. On the contrary, it means to stand up to your fears.
By finding the courage to face his fears again and again, in addition to saving the people of Hyrule, maybe one day he will gather the strength to find his voice once more.

They would need a good actor, but it's a Game of Thrones version of TLoZ apparently so the actors should be good with the high amount of drama. It isn't about what the fans need, it's about what the show needs. It need Link with a voice.

I was just reading Variety's article on the news, and it mentioned that Netflix is planning to launch in Japan this year (which they said might lead credibility to the idea, trying to grab onto Japanese properties).

Well they're doing a pretty terrible job since Zelda sells like poop in Japan.
I doubt both news are related.
YES. Personally, this is one of the better approaches in tackling the Zelda series. It's one thing to adapt a book into a movie/show, but a game — it's rather odd since the player has such a connection to the character they're playing. It's better that they create a series off of uncharted or barely-tampered-with territory. If they're looking to go for a GoT approach, the Sealing Wars sounds perfect to me. [Or a story between OoT and WW]. This would allow them to focus less on Link and more on the lore of Hyrule.
