Why the heck is the American release of Oreimo season 2 gonna be so expensive?

Because Aniplex is a terrible (Brilliant?) company...

Well, the Australian release of season one was around half of the asking price -.- Normal people can't afford that, not to mention a tax we in Norway has to pay if we import things that costs more than 200kr (around 33$ us)

Sadly, the only anime series released on dvd in Norway is either made to sell toys (Pokémon, Bakugan, Beyblade and things like that) or Moomins. Seriosly, they are still rereleasing Moomins on dvd here.

Does that tax only apply to entertainment, or does it apply to everything?

Everything except books/comics. No idea why its not apply to them, but it isn't.

@Tobias95 Did Madman handle the Australian release? We Australians are lucky when it comes to anime because Madman owns nearly everything, and they're nice people so they don't jack up the price too much. Sucks to hear about it around your side though. If demand is low, some companies do ridiculous things to make ends meet.

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

@Jollykarp yes they did release it in Australia. Btw, the Australian releases of the pokemon seasons are great, I own the eigth first season in region 4 and the ninth in region 1. At least neither America, Australia or England(at least a handfull of what I want is released in region 2) charges as much as Japan.

Speaking of Madman, I just nabbed the FLCL soundtrack for 5 dollars free shipping. They're way too good to us ^^

Hopefully to dissuade people from buying it. Why? Because it sucks, and it sucks hard.

Aw..I powered through the last episodes and finished my Card Captor Sakura rewatch at nearly 3 in the morning. D'ah that ending is just so d'ah….SO ****ING CUTE- Ok, I can gush for hours on why I love this anime but I'll spare everyone and I think i've done enough of that already lol. It's just a timeless classic.
I should really finish the manga some day. Heard even the ending has a few differences.

Excuse me, but I actually enjoyed watching Oreimo. Ive seen both seasons, and own the first on DVD. Want the second season on dvd too. Because the show is good. Nor best ive seen, but still good. Its probaly a matter of taste.

would it be madness to start watching Naruto(and Naruto Shippuden) right now?

Depends on how much free time you got. After my knowlege, its a very long serie.

Where are you starting from? If it's episode 1, now's a good a time as any. You're really dedicated if you make it all the way through the first series though

If you skip the filler its pretty doable. Seriously, I saw 100 episodes in a month back in January. Only got about 30(?) episodes left to go before I watch Shippuden.

I have about 1,5 month with nothing to do other than gaming and hanging out once every week(in the best case scenario)

It's definitely a matter of taste. I won't say yours is bad for enjoying the ending to the show, but it's definitely questionable. I enjoyed the first season of the show, when it was still about a guy rebuilding his relationship with his little sister and there was flirtation between him and some of her friends. What the second season devolved into and how it ended, though? That was garbage. To each his own, though...

Oreimo is a tragedy, really. It set itself up to trick people into thinking it would go one way so it could subvert tropes and poke fun at other anime.

And in the end it became exactly what it was making fun of, ultimately fulfilling the (false) prophecy it set up at the beginning...

Actually, I can sorta relate to that. Which pains me even more...

My only experience of this series was people reacting to the ending, which was just yelling "WHY?!" over and over again essentially
