@Anti-Matter some genuine observations but you do you .....
Commenting on articles you dont like or have any interest in with a negative thought is eventually going to give you a negative persona, particularly when its most articles. You dont have to comment for comments sake. Sometimes, just be happy for the people who are enjoying the article.

Be happy for others when they like different things. Its OK and doesn't make them bad. We are all gamers with our own likes and dislikes. No one is attacking you by having a different view.

Stay on topic. If you are off topic and being a bit negative, it disrupts the conversation for others. Create a forum if needs be dedicated to the subject you want to comment on.

Make your point but you dont have to repeat it so much. Frequent repetition can feel like you are pushing your views on others.

If you want to say something, then do. One liners with abrupt bold text and no context dont help. Many like to hear opposing views but with no rationale behind them, people will naturally challenge and question back.

Anyone on here who is genuine gamer, will like Sony and/or recognise that they are a genuinely good publisher/platform. Just remember this is a Nintendo site. Its not a rule of "thou shall not speak of XXXX" but as with the above, is the comment on topic?

Continue with who you are and your likes and dislikes but remember if you want to be respected as different on this site (and thats not a problem) respect back that everyone is different. It works both ways.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

@Anti-Matter thanks for the suggestion, however, we aren't looking to change how the ignore/block feature works. I don't believe what you're suggesting would make a better overall experience.

At the end of the day, this is a public forum / comment section, therefore your posts will always be seen by people logging out — which is what I believe you are doing to "check" on people you've ignored?

I also think @Duncanballs makes some good points. You have often complained about the behaviour of other users, behaviour that ironically is exactly the same way you have behaved in the past. So there is an element of taking responsibility for your own actions.

That said, we will of course remove any comments/posts that break our community rules, whether that user is ignored/blocked or not.

@antdickens
Behaviour and forum etiquette aside, I think Antimatter may've omitted something important from their request.
If you tag someone in a reply, that user will receive a "User mentioned you" email notification.
I think they just want to not receive email notifications from ignored / blocked users? I'm certain that I've received mentions and a notification emails from users I've ignored.

@RupeeClock If I recall, there was a time a year or 2 or 3 back where people did get notified by an ignored ping, but Antdickens fixed it ... it's discussed somewhere way back on this exact thread.
