when i first saw this device i thought it looked like a tomogotchi accessory. then i heard that it was a walking meter that allows you to choose a pokemon to walk with from your game and count the calories you have burned and steps you have walked. also to keep your pokemon healthy you got to walk it regularly to keep it healthy. and if you walk it good anouth it will gain xp. this will be a great way to keep kids healthy while having fun at the same time
This is ground control to major Tom, you've really made the grade. And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare
It's basically just an update of the old Pokèmon Pikachu, right?
probbibly but this one has more features then pokemon pickachu.

Don't see it as a Tamagotchi. It's just a levelling device as well as a way of capturing pokemon you can't find in the game itself. You can transfer pokemon from it to your game and vice versa. If you use it for levelling it is only one level at a time. You have to transfer again if you want to level your pokemon up more.
how does catching pokemon in it work and can you use it to transfer a pokemon start a new game and transfer again?
Really simple. A random Pokemon will appear on the screen (black and white mono, by the way, no color) and you have the option to Fight, Run, or Catch. Caught Pokemon can be transferred to HG/SS and you can transfer any Pokemon from HG/SS to the PokeWalker to level them up ONE time per day by walking. To gain another level you have to transfer the Pokemon back to HG/SS and back again to the PokeWalker. Walking also adds Volts, the "currency" of the PokeWalker that you can spend on many different items (which I don't know what they are yet).
peekachu wuz liek 'dun tase meh bro!' n' i was liek 'im gunna tase u bro!' n den he wuz liek 'i herd u liek mudkipz bro' n den i tased em
Is it only one level per day? I thought it was once per transfer, which would make more sense in my opinion.

For a description of the pokewalker and its courses, leveling up, and catching pokemon visit serebii.net's HG/SS section. It's very detailed and should answer almost any questions.
