There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore
I don't like grinding, but nowadays the word "grinding" has come to mean "you'll die if you just hammer A without any actual strategy, so either use your head, or grind", and I quite like the "using your head" part. Final Fantasy 1 requiring grinding? Hah. No.
RPGs rule because of grinding. I've always loved the self-limiting difficulty that the grinding outlet provides. Are things too challenging for you? Spend extra time, level, and it'll be easier, or as Adamant put it, use your head, and you can save time/have more of a challenge. I think that's why DQ1 grabbed me and the genre's never let me go.
This game looks like it has owns written all over it.

I don't know how I feel about grinding. In the 90s, it was expected. Nowadays, I think people are probably lazier and want instant gratification. Myself included.
By the way, his impression wasn't exactly "lukewarm" he did say he played the demo twice.
