Sketchy that they would release a brand new DS right after the bigger DSiXL and when the current one is still selling tons, but I don't understand Nintendo anymore. O.o
No, not next year. These rumors all seem to stem from a source claiming that nVidia might be announcing a partnership with Nintendo late next year. Even if that were to occur on schedule--and that's a big if--it would likely be at least another calendar year after that before the device actually arrived, after a string of teasers and perhaps an E3 unveiling, etc. I'd say the next handheld will almost certainly not arrive before 2011, and likely later in that year rather than sooner.

agreed with zss_shadow and Ricardo91. Nintendo doesn't really seem to know what they're actually doing nowadays.

It is hard to understand many things game developers and manufactures are doing nowadays. Look at the PSPgo, I have nothing against it, but it is a digial dist only system and they boasted it to be the next great thing. Ignore the $250 price tag, you have a system that you can no longer use your game collection on. You have to buy the games again. As far as buying them again, well, if they port to digital. They boasted an Apps store like Apple but there were so few apps at launch. Take the system and shrink the screen and make the controls closer together. I enjoy the PSP 1K,2K,3K but I am not sure about the GO on controls.
All in all, didn't make much sense. But then again, launching a giant DSi doesn't make sense to me either, but if you look, they aiming towards a different market. It is not a replacement for the DSi. They are making a DSi that is easier to see and play due to the size. So anyone turned off by small screens or controls will be able to play it.
DS2? I don't see it happening next year, well, not being on sale, I would say announced. The GBA lasted 10 years, I don't see the DS lasting any shorter. But again, with MS and Sony with motion controls, N may take a new approach and make a HD/High Spec Wii2 and have a High Spec DS2 for high end "core", I can't believe I used that, gamers and the Wii and DSi for causual gamers, AKA, kids...Just a thought....
If they make it, I want what they said we would have in the GBA2 years ago before the DS, a scaled down GameCube. Hell, make it, just give us analog sticks! HAHAHA
Vegeta: Just...just...transform damn you... Bulma: We are going to have a penthouse sweet...and he'll drive a corvet...and we will make love every single... Zarbon: (transforms) Bulma: KILL IT WITH FIRE!
the nvidia chip rumour reminds me of a gizmondo..... maybe someone accidentally, misread a plan for a gizmondo 2 and thought it was a ds.... oh well, probably not...
