Topic: I got chrono trigger!

On friday, I got this awesome game. I've beaten the 3rd dungeon (derelict factory) and now I'm at the end of time. Everybody that can has learned magic. I can definitely see how people call this one of the greatest games of all time!

Congratulations, you know have one the greatest RPG's of all time. It is also my favorite non-Mario RPG, and for a good reason!

I'm with Cheetahman. Easily one of the greatest games of all time, and the only non-Mario RPG I've ever been able to really get into.

To be honest, though, I never finished it. I got to this one dungeon and it took a good hour and a half just to get to the boss. Every room leading up to the boss had like 10 enemies in it, so by the time I got to the boss (who was insanely hard of course) my health was mostly depleted and I had run out of items. Died right away, obviously. I just thought to myself, "this isn't worth it". And I got rid of the game. I sort of regret it, but...I don't have the patience for that kind of dungeon.

Congrats.. you're playing a truly epic game for the first time. I hope you enjoy every minute!

I love this game with all of my heart. I played it for the first time a few months ago and it is amazing! One of my favs of all time. Best RPG I have ever played for sure.

I really feel like a coward. I have this game too, and I loved it and all that, but then I reached the point where

you have to beat Magus. And I haven't even tried to battle him yet!? Im sorta afraid of turning on my DSi and play this because I have a feeling that I just get my ass kicked............. Any tips? I really want to complete this game!

oo i beat him u have to use magic that he has his magic shield up. I think itstthe magic you used last or maybe its the opposite of his magic shield and hitting him with the super sword thing brings his magic defense down soo hes more vunerable. He has 6666 hp (ha-ha) so itm ay take awhile depending on your levels but i forgot exactly stuff

Enjoy it Sonic--game is super, super fun. It's just one of those games that's so, so much better than the sum of its parts, which are great parts. Aged way better than almost the entire catalog of PS1 RPGs as well.

I am glad to hear you got it because it really is one of the best RPGs ever made. I didn't finish it but got through most of it so I know like everyone else that this is truly an amazing game. Congratulations!

Contratulations. You got what's probably the greatest RPG of all time, next to Mario & Luigi of course.

Mario and Luigi is great but I still liked the Paper Mario series better.

I really want this game. I keep debating on if I should buy it for DS or hold out for a probable, eventual VC release. Who knows how long that will take though.

I would seriously doubt that this ever comes to the VC. I think they recently dropped the price for the DS one so I'd say go for that.

@SonicMaster-There is a reason Chrono Trigger is considered one of the greatest games of all time. I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as I did.

I bought it too for 14 bucks CAN, but after playing through it again, the character stories and depth was no where near as deep as I remember them to be.
Not saying it's a bad game, the mechanics of it are spot on and it's still a beautiful game, it's just the story doesn't seem as good.. maybe it's cause I'm older, but then again I still consider FFVI to be the best RPG of that time story, gameplay and graphics wise.

I've played through quite a bit of it during the afternoon yesterday and I enjoy it greatly. I really like how you battle your foes on the map instead of a battle screen. It keeps the game more fast-paced than most RPG's. Many classic RPG's are plagued by slow pace.
