I love Final Fantasy 3 DS, even though it's not as good as the NES version. Never played the DS version of FF4, though. It looked like it did not transition well to 3D...

Final Fantasy IV DS was one of the best RPG games I had played in a long time. If you haven't, I suggest that you play it as soon as possible.

This. It was the game that got me firmly attached to JRPG's. Not sure why people think it's so difficult though. If you fill in the maps a little more, you'll fight more enemies, get plenty of EXP, get great items, and only have to grind right at the very end.

I played final fantasy 3 but quickly got bored with it. Mainly due to the linear nature of the game, otherwise if you like oldschool jrpgs, its perfect for you, looks good, job system is wonderful, and the music is great

I was attached to them but I dunno whether I am now or I have grown out of it.

(I played a translation of the Japanese Final Fantasy IV because I didn't want to play the easy type one. I bought the DS one as well but haven't bothered playing along with the After Years with all the DLC).

The story has to be good for me to like playing them. (And when I am playing what I am doing is most of the time thinking about the story).

With this maybe I should have done some of the challenge dungeons but I didn't because I thought it will be just no story but now I am on the last bit and it is just tons of random encounters most of them are boss kind of difficulty and loads of bosses. So while I am playing it all I am doing is watching the numbers and not thinking about the story at all.

(13 hours of it so far in the last part if my save game time is correct. Maybe that includes the rest but I have not being enjoying it. Cannot even survive the initial attack of the "Lord Dragon" that is in a chest.)

Not what I want at all I wish I had never started playing it.

I always preferred Final Fantasy over Dragon Quest. Square Enix makes such great games...

I have nothing really to say about myself.

Be warned though, FFIV DS is, like, the hardest FF I have played.

It can even be unfair at times with some of the random enemies you find. Nothing like every other version of IV.

Of the two, I actually like III better, and liked FF IV for PSP more than DS too.

I cleared FF III, it was really good. I needed a bit of grinding only twice in the game. FF IV is on amazon for 19.99, I might get it soon.
