When i try to set up the Nintendo WFC on my DS Lite, i click "Search for an acces ponts" and it instantly gives me the "The access point's security settings are not supported by the Nintendo DS" without even giving me a list of access points to choose from, what am i doing wrong? (PS: I know the official nintendo server for the DS are no longer active, bit i'm trying to connect to another one)
I had a similar problem with my DS Lite. It may be because the original DS and the Lite do not support WPA-encrypted networks. I believe it's possible to change your router settings to a WEP encryption, which is less secure but is supported by the DS, but I don't know enough about this process to really advise you on how to do it. I'm sure you could find some information about it on the internet though - hope this helps.
@Dogorilla You don't understand the problem, it's not that i choose my network and it tells me i cant connect, i don't get to choose a network before the error shows up.
Hmm, I'm not sure then. It may be that when you search for an access point, it finds your network straight away and is unable to connect to it due to the security settings. It might still be worth trying to change your network to WEP but if that doesn't work I don't know what else to suggest.
It simply means that the security on your router is to high and does not support the DS. You can get around this by lowering the security on your router, using a WEP hotspot, or using the Nintendo wifi usb.
Just ask me if your need more info.
