Topic: Anyone here with 3DS only, who'll be new to DSiWare?

Thought I'd start a thread for my fellow 3DS gamers who never jumped on the DSi bandwagon, and will get their first crack at DSiWare with the 3DS update giving us eShop on Monday.

Anyone else here with 3DS who never got a DSi system and is looking forward to the opportunity to finally purchase DSiWare? One could say we're behind. But, we'll get an extra something that's new to us that people who have owned a DSi have had available to them for a while!

When DSi was released, I already had a regular DS. DSiWare alone wasn't worth buying a DSi or DSiXL, since there was no Virtual Console. On top of that, losing the GBA slot, I never even considered buying a DSi. But, now I am excited about the prospect of buying Shantae, Cave Story and maybe some others!

What are you other DSiWare newbies looking forward to?

Let's attack aggressively, kupo! :D

I got the DS Phat as soon as it came out, and then got a DS Lite just before the DSi was announced (felt a little stupid, but honestly it didn't bother me too much) I never worried about getting a DSi because it didn't appeal to me enough to replace my Lite with the beloved GBA slot.

I really don't know what I want to get DSiWare wise, because I don't want to get anything I'm not sure about. I'm kind of waiting for the eShop to come so I can look through everything in the store and see what I want, along with looking up reviews online.

Anyone in this situation is gonna have quite a lot of stuff to look over come Monday You guys are in for a real treat! There are quite a few gems waiting in the DSiWare catalog. Feel free to stop by the DSiWare recommendations thread to ask us DSiWare veterans on the best things to purchase. I imagine it may be a bit overwhelming to browse through 300+ games you are totally new to.

I've only had the original ds prior to getting my 3ds, so all of this is new to me, too! I'm definitely going to spend some time over at the recomendation thread.

Just call the Four .......Fantastic Four!

having played them. I recommend beatnes and a few other electoplanktons, dragon quest wars and pop island.

I skipped the Dsi so those games will be totally new to me. I'll probably make the Shantae sequel my first Dsiware game. I'd also like to check out Soul of Darkness. I love Castlevania and that game sounds like a really good clone.
Anyone want to suggest anything else I might enjoy?

@link79
Any of the artstyle games are fantastic if you enjoy puzzels. Cave story is a great game as well, it being a 2d shooter with an intresting story. Dark void zero is another good shooter, altho a bit short. Feildrunners is a great Tower defense if you dont have the i-touch version, along with the soon to come out angry birds. Ivy the kiwi? is a great platformer if you like things like mario. theres aslo donkeykong vs mario, Might flip champs and mighty milky way are alose excellent games. One of my persona favorites is pop island, a fun little capture the flag game. Finally, Puzzel Quest :Challenge of the warlords is both puzzel and turnbased rpg, so of you like those genres buy it as its incredibley addicitng. Hope this helped!

EDIT: Ninjaed.damn, forgot about that thread. ah well.

bad thing only about 50 games are worth the download

@slidecage is that sarcasm? 50 games in enough for anybody, especially with new ones coming out all the time.

Even if that were true, 50 games would be great! However, that statement is quite false. I own a little over 100 items on DSiWare and I don't regret buying rougly 85 of them. Plus there are a bunch of good games on there that don't interest me personally so I therefore do not own. There is a ton of good to be found on the DSi Shop. I don't understand when people say the DSi Shop was a failure. Was the interface bad? sure. But the content is great when you really dig into it.

I'm not necessarily new but I'll start over. $75 off for trading in the DSi is better than retaining the $15 of DSiware that was worth it

@mark3 - Even if we could, we know the big one's Monday, so it's not that big of a loss that we can't right now. What's annoying me though is that I can't access the DSi shop right now, and I just bought a new Nintendo Points card for my last DSiWare I'm buying on my DSi!

Exactly.

I'll be new to DSiWare. I know I'm getting Shantae and possibly a few others.

LuigiFreak

I will. I'll be getting Cave Story and Shantae along with a few others. I'm really excited for Flipnote Studio.

I know that the update was monday, it was just wanted to make sure my 3ds settings would work on my router to update it on monday. I was starting to get errors on it and on the dsi. But, I found out that the dsi shop was under maintenance and that you could get access to nintendo to update, but its ok now and it works. Thats why you couldn't get on the dsi shop.
