I don't normally like these sorts of games but after reading destructoid's review of it, I might get it. It may not come to Europe so I'll probably import it at some point.
I plan on getting this one eventually; I really enjoy games heavy on storyline. Unfortunately, I'm short on cash at the moment and I still need to get Epic Yarn, so this one may have to wait a while.
RawMeatCowboy on GoNintendo has really wet my appetite for the game. It seems really cool, and if I hadn't just bought Golden Sun today I would pick it up this weekend, so hopefully it sticks around (and maybe gets cheaper since Amazon has it for $35).
EDIT: Ok, I caved, haha. Picked up the last copy at Gamestop, and wow, the story and situations are really fantastic.
I will get this as soon as I find a copy. Have not yet seen one.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
^ I agree! Jim Sterling annoys the crap out of me half the time, but other than him Destructoid is pretty great.

So... I've finished this game twice and I'm going to give it a break for a while. Fantastic game. It's a full-on psychological thriller. I was creeped out the whole time and now I feel like looking over my shoulder every, er, nine seconds.
Just FYI I got two different BAD ENDS both times. Looks like there's a spoilerless story chart on GameFAQs to get all the different endings. I might use that to get the good ending soon.
Just got to one of the bad endings, but I shut my DS off before the credits ended.
I absolutely adore this game so far. I haven't been creeped out about it yet, though.
Unless taking a good look around my room whenever I come home from work/shopping to make sure a guy in a gas mask isn't standing around is considered being creeped out....then yes, I'm very creeped out.
But the story is excellently told so far. Anyone who likes Hotel Dusk, Professor Layton, and/or Ace Attorney should seriously give this title a once-over.
Heard several people talking about this game I didn't even know about until the other day. Everyone's saying it's one of the best game stories they've ever experience, so I'm all in and pumped. I'm picking up my copy tomorrow. My gamestop is literally the only one within a hundred miles with a copy, so I'm going as soon as I get out of church!

I've finished all endings now. This game is... genius. I wish I could say more but it would spoil everything for you guys. Oh, the theories!
@Tin_Man Don't shut off your DS so soon. You need to save the game data and start New Game+ with your previous memories.
@Mickeymac That's a damn shame. The story, setting and characters in 999 are all brilliant. IMO there literally is not a single flaw in the game. Also Phoenix Wright and Hotel Dusk are not visual novels, for what it's worth. VNs use a lot of narration and sound effects to take the place of graphics or animation. PW and HD are more straight point-and-click adventure games.
But if it's puzzles that you hate, then you won't enjoy 999. Even though the puzzles are class too. If you want an idea of what the puzzles are like try the Flash game, Crimson Room, which famously invented the "room escape" sub-genre. 999 is more palatable than Crimson Room by the way, there's far more story, the difficulty is pretty low (once you figure out what you're supposed to do) and there's less frustrating bumbling around.
Just got the True Ending today after getting all the "Bad" endings. Words cannot describe this incredible game. It has the greatest plot of anything I've ever experienced, and the ending left me floored. Plus, all the theories and explanations floating around Gamefaqs just continue to add depth to this game.
I am left feeling some sadness, because I know not everyone in the world is going to be able to experience this amazing game. My favorite character is Snake by a landslide, though Seven comes in at second, with Junpei and Santa tied for third.
I'm also currently suffering withdrawl symptoms from this masterpiece. I have a gaggle of new games from Christmas to play (999 having been one of them, the one I've put the most time into), plus a ton of games on my backlog already, but I just can't bring myself to play anything else. I feel like nothing else I will play will be able to hold a candle to this one. If only Ever17 didn't cost so damn much I'd snatch it up in an instant. Maybe I should break in my new points card and finally download Shantae to get my mind off of this amazing game?
