This doesn't have to be something that's within the realm of possibility, so imagine away. What do you hope to see with amiibos?
I'm pretty tame with my hopes. I wouldn't mind seeing a new Nintendoland that's free to download and unlocks new games/rewards for having different amiibos. It'd be a great extra for some amiibos, although they may need to offer little demo versions of each minigame.
Another one (that I didn't invent) is a new Mega Man Battle Network game. Here, you could have your NetNavi and store its data on a figure. That way if you go to a friend's house, you can bring your amiibo and your own personally designed Navi is in the data, complete with chip folders and style changes.
I also hope that we have a data management software for amiibos. I'm not bothered that they can only hold one data, that's just the reality of NFC. But I would hate to not be able to backup that data so that it's not lost forever.

I personally would love to see just any sort of "hub game" for amiibo also. Since amiibo give enough stuff in other games already, it probably wouldn't be something on as huge of a scale of, say, Disney Infinity or Skylanders, but would work more like a companion app. I like the idea of a sort of Nintendo Land system for it like you suggest! Minigames unlocked, or levels or other extras, for amiibo would be a nice reward.
The biggest idea that I personally would rather see but would probably be far too much work would be a 3D or 2.5D platformer, similar to Disney Infinity and Little Big Planet in that it's built on a toy-box like system that would let you create your own, albeit not extremely expansive levels of sorts within the system. Amiibo scanned in could let you play as the amiibo in some cases, and in other cases, unlock neat power ups or items to use in play mode or in your levels that are based on the character or item scanned. For example, scanning a Diddy Kong figure could give you Diddy's Peanut Popgun to be wielded by the player, or unlock a set of Donkey Kong Country themed items to be placed in game (Barrel Cannon's, anyone? ), or etcetera, if not let you play as Diddy himself. If they made the game a fleshed out toy box without necessarily having to go into making a story or anything and leaving it to the players to make use of the tools given (I imagine it could have VERY interesting miiverse integration), and maybe make enemies and player-battle modes and things like that, it could EASILY turn into a fun game. Of course... I doubt anything like that would happen, though.
Actually, now that I think about it after typing that post, a similar idea could work VERY well integrated into Mario Maker. Like, if you scan a Kirby amiibo, it'd give you a Kirby series themed decorative piece, or obstacle, or set piece to play with or something..... make it happen, Nintendo!
I would also DEFINITELY like to see a hub that lets you "drop off" and pick-up amiibo data on and off a figure. I don't want to ever have to decide between buying a new figure or deleting all the data saved onto my figure, especially in Smash's case after surely training so hard with and growing attached to each character. Would rather be able to keep using the same figure and not have to stress over what I want to use it for when.
(sorry for this getting longer than expected, get a bit too excited over my ideas. hehe.)

As I was reading this, I thought of Mario Maker style as well. Like. The actual program/game should be a free download. And for every amiibo you scan into it, you unlock that character's theme to create levels with, where you can mix and match to your choosing. Want Mario to shoot out of DK barrels and maybe even go on a mine art ride? The tools are at your disposal, provided you have both Mario and DK. More and different items from both worlds could then be gained and used if you have Peach, Liugi, Toad, Diddy, etc. Samus, Link and Zelda, and many others would have their own themes to unlock to add into the platforming. And of course, then you would be able to play as those characters you scanned in.
I'd want amiibo land. A free download, and you get one game preloaded (to do with Miis). Other amiibo then add more minigames, for example a Mario amiibo would unlock Mario Chase.
You'd be able to play in the hub as well - one amiibo would unlock a game, a zone (like a mini stage or dungeon in the hub) and the ability to play as that character.
It's basically a free version of Nintendo Land with amiibo and more things to do
EDIT: I noticed you said that as well. Great minds think alike, I guess!
This is just a random idea I had: In Mario Party 10, what if scanning, say, a Link Amiibo puts in the game as a playable character? It's not gonna happen, but it would be awesome if it did.
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

I think it'd be great if nintendo updated older games such as SM3DW, DKCTF and even as far back as NSMBU allowing amiibo characters (mario, DK, Luigi, etc) to capture game save data that could be used in new games to bolster stats, unlock items or costumes and ever share on miiverse. For example, finishing SM3DW is easy however collecting all stars and stamps is not, so if you are able to accomplish this and capture the save data on your amiibo (mario, luigi, peach, etc), you can unlock metal mario costume in SSB or Nabbit in MK8 (if you've collected all stars in NSMBU and LuigiU). This would give great incentive to go back and 100% those older games so you could "upload" your save data onto the corresponding amiibo and enjoy benefits in newer games or share stats via miiverse.
Updating to older games:
Kid Icarus with Pit
Donkey Kong TF with Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong
Fire Emblem 3DS compatibility
Pikmin 3 compatibility
Wind Waker HD compatibility
Luigi's Mansion 2 comptability
MOBA where each Amiibo represents a playable character. Scan in a figure to play as a character. With online multiplayer. Characters abilities wouldbe based on their rrespective games (kinda like Smash)
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

This. Or just a Nintendo MOBA in general. I'd be so in love with that game.
A game mechanic like what castlevania sotn used. A familiar to fight along with you. The familiar would look like the amiibo and level up. Stats would be kept on the amiibo.
I just want them to go the Smash route, special CPUs that can act as an ally or opponent. Was hoping Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors would have done this. :c

Keep it PG-13-ish.
MOTHER 4 with Amiibos for Ness and the gang (or Lucas, other characters, etc, whoever stars in the game).
I think an "amiibo land" game sounds like a fantastic idea, except it comes in a physical copy with one free amiibo (Mario) included. You unlock new games according to the amiibo you've purchased.
Tiz, Edea, Ringabel, Agnes, Magnolia amiibo. If Bravely Second is a hit, maybe these amiibo can transfer their data between games? Tiz or Magnolia as a playable Smash character in the next Smash so you can use em for that to? PLEASE?
Mystery Dungeon Amiibo game. Now the only experience I have with the Mystery Dungeon is 1 Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game, but imagine that you build your team using your Amiibo and leveling them up and getting equipment to power them up. Dungeons could be randomized. I think it could be a fun way to play a Mystery Dungeon game and create a game that requires Amiibo without consumers being locked out of content for not owning certain Amiibo. Just an idea.

Temporary license storage. Say I have a digital copy of a game so I can download and play it on somebody elses Wii U temporarily. (I think I should be able to do that anyway with just the nnid like Sony and MS allow but if it needed Amibo so be it)
“30fps Is Not a Good Artistic Decision, It's a Failure”
Freedom of the press is for those who happen to own one.

I really don't see that happening. And the reason why NNID don't do that now is probably why so many people do that with Xbox/PSN Accounts, give your friends access to your games so they don't have to pay for them and they can play those games as long as you are off-line. But that is a conversation for a different thread. I don't think License storage will come to Amiibo.

OP, I do like your free-to-play game idea. Sounds fun, and exactly the nice little side perk that makes the figurines even more attractive (because let's face it, lots of us are getting them as much for display as for game interactions).
Personally, I'd love a huge Nintendo World game. Like Skylanders or Infinity, but with that sort of Nintendo difference they somehow manage to infuse in most games they make.
