If they have a midnight launch at GAME in the UK, I'll be there. I've picked the store most likely to have the midnight launch based on past releases. If not, 9am sharp on whatever Friday morning. Heck, I'll be there at 8am waiting for the store to open. As soon as we find out when it is, I'm also booking the day off work!

I'll probably sell my DSi and use the money for a 3DS once Kid Icarus releases. Hopefully I'll be able to get at least $100 for the used DSi, which won't make the upgrade $$$ too burdensome.

I just know I'm going to want one of these, and I've been debating with myself for months over this. My biggest concern is the small size screen. My old eyes struggle to see on my DSi as it is, and the 3DS's touch screen is only the size of the DS-Lite's. I use my DSi a lot. For that reason alone I'm put off by the 3DS.
So I've just now made up my mind. And what I'm going to do is hold out and hope Nintendo comes out with a 3DS XL version with larger screens. When/if they do that, or if the price drops enough, then I'll get the 3DS.
{sniff sniff} I'll be sad not having a 3DS when the rest of you get yours, but at least that'll give me time to save up for one.
Also, for those who have actually tried it out, do the screens feel smaller than the original DSi's? How about the pixel density?

I wonder if you could transfer it to someone else's 3DS before you sell it and then after you do and buy a 3DS, transfer it from that person's 3DS to yours?
@shinesprite The bottom screen's pixel density is higher than the DSi's for sure. It's higher than the original DS and the DS Lite's so it's definitely higher than the DSi's. The bottom screen is smaller so it should feel smaller. The top screen is supposedly vertically about the same height as the DSi's screens (I think?), and the pixel density we could calculate but I'm too lazy.
All I see that is a setback/compromise for the 3DS is the low battery life. What else is bad about it?
I've preordered a pair of them (blue and black). I really need to put my hands on one though so I can decide if I REALLY want one. Maybe there will be a demo unit somewhere around here that I can actually hold so I can compare the "feel" to my DSi.
If they turn out to be what I want, then I'll pass my DSi onto my son. If my daughter wants a DSi, I'll probably sell her White Lite and my son's current Triforce Gold Lite and buy her a DSi with the proceeds.
Anyone know how much bulkier it "feels" compared to the DSi? I'm aware of what the dimensions are but how does it FEEL?
I'm planning to pick on up at GS, but depending on if they offer anything extra determines when that will be. For a free game or a 20 dollar point card I'll grab one at launch. I doubt they will give out anything with this system so that will make my decision to what a few months (maybe untlll the lite version) a lot easier.
Possibly, but I'd guess that would only work if they didn't have anything on their 3DS yet. Once somebody gets stuff on one system, it's probably all tied together. You wouldn't be able to transfer your stuff to your 3DS without them losing what they already had on theirs, I'd guess.
Just go out and buy the 3DS the day your ebay auction ends. Transfer your content, then throw the DSi in the mail. Wins all around (unless the 3DS is sold out a lot...in which case, buy, transfer, then post on ebay).

I guess I'll get mine whenever Amazon decides to ship it. I ordered it with "Free Super Saver Shipping" so my 3DS is estimated to arrive between April 4th and April 7th. That is going to be the longest wait ever but at least I am getting one!
