I've decided to purchase a digital copy of Animal Crossing New Leaf. Since i don't own a credit card I've decided to turn to a more cheaper solution- Gift Cards. Will Visa Electron work on European eShop (UK one, since I'm from Serbia and it's not supported here)? Any help would be appreciated!
@the_shpydar There's nothing stating on the eShop that the use of gift cards work. It just says to add funds by using a credit/debit card or an eShop card.
@waspfire96 As shpydar said, it'll probably be best to ask Nintendo really, they'll know what will and won't work.
Visa gifts cards DO work. I have been using Onevanilla visa prepaid gift cards (for example) to buy eshop games with no problems for months now. Mastercard gift cards (specifically, the American Express gift Card), on the other hand, will not work (which I learned the hard way when I first began buying gifts cards for use with the eshop).
Just treat them as you would a credit/debit card when you are ready to use the visa gift card. The funds will be deducted from the gift card.
I've been buying nintendo eshop gift cards from www.nintendocarddelivery.com - this gets me access to the US store, and I can buy the cards discounted with PayPal.
