The problem is giving this game some screen time. Yes, Nintendo is too kid-friendly, but that's because a good portion of their sales are kids. Even if this game gets released on the eShop, they need to be careful when putting it on the eShop page
They can put it right next to Bombing Bastards!

If Nintendo puts this trash on 3ds ''Binding Isaac'' then they can put on Noah's Ark 3D - SNES & The Bible Game - GBA on virtual console on 3ds.
Binding Isaac directly mock's the bible...
Read Genesis Chapter 22.

so it's not religious "theme" but religious "parody"? that would explain it, since I know nothing of this game the reason Nintendo gave for not letting this one in, about "religious reference" sounded like some exageration. but if it really is some sort of parody that can be seen as "direspectful mockery" by a specific group(or more than one group) it makes complete sense for Nintendo to turn it down.

If Nintendo let that game on 3ds it would start a riot & have alot of christians boycotting nintendo.
All I was saying since they've already released christian games on the consoles/handheld before they could release some on virtual console.
Held my tongue with certain games being put on 3ds in recent years but have had enough. If they can put games with the occult in them on 3ds good example would be new game persona q fyi it comes with tarot cards from GS which is occult. Then can put christian games on the 3ds as well like bible game - gba, noaks ark 3d snes, narnia ds, etc.

I really don't think it would start any riots. The game has been out on PC for years and is coming to other platforms as well. A free store means people can buy what they want to, because it's available to them. If some people find it offensive then don't play it - or boycott the game itself.
Meanwhile I'd love to buy the game if it came to the 3DS. The gross-out style of the game isn't quite to my liking but its quite a good rogue-like none the less.
The theme of the game is a crazy person using religion to justify her craziness. (Maybe a little bit of people using religion as an excuse for truly great evil which throughout history seems to be a constant.)
People dealing with the bible I think are weird. (Stuff has been added to it that wasn't in the earliest ones so should be removed. What somebody who was dead hundreds of years previously wrote shouldn't be changed after their death).

@GuSolarFlare Basically Isaac, the protagonist is treated very badly by a mother that hears the voice of "God" and he's forced to stay in his room where he finds the opening to a dungeon which starts the game. It's a pretty twisted game to a certain extent, but it's not like shocking or anything, then again it may be for some. I think some of the items you collect (power ups) may have some sort of religious connection like a Cross or a Pentagram.. but yeah. I'm pretty sure we've seen similar stuff on Nintendo consoles before.
Personally I loved it and I would buy it day one were it to be a decent price. I'd much rather prefer they bring it to Wii U though. It's a great and challenging game with plenty of replay value. They could easily change the items to make it more "Nintendo" friendly and I wouldn't care if they did because at it's core, it was a fun game.
I'm kinda surprised that Nintendo is worried about the religious aspects of this game. Personally, I found other aspects of the game pretty disturbing when I first found out about it. Mostly some of the power-ups, like the ones that are basically parts of Isaac's old pets or his siblings that were never born. And then there's ???...

Wholeheartedly agree with you on this one. This game is a complete mockery of the Christian faith and should never have existed in the first place. I can guarantee if this made fun of any other religion it would be getting hate from everyone. Anyway, thanks for standing up for your faith!
Personally, I hope this game never comes to Nintendo's systems. It blatantly attacks Christianity and Judaism, and arguably faith in general, while also dragging the name of one of the fathers of the Jewish race through the mud.

And that's how things should be handled.
Only words that come to mind for those who don't want it to come to the 3DS is.. "You don't like it? You don't have to buy/play it." I doubt anyone complaining about the game has even played it. Yeah, there is some, very little, narrative at the beginning and the ends of your playthrough(s), that's about it. The rest is all up to what your mind makes it out to be as you travel through dungeons collecting items, some obscene, and kill bosses/enemies. I don't think the game was made to intentionally get a bunch of people's panties in a bunch.
It's all fun and games until your religion (or lack of religion) gets blatantly attacked.
lol, my religion gets blatantly attacked all the time, I just let it slide as if nothing had happened, actually I'd rather not even talk about religion with other people to avoid more pointless hostility.

If this were just a joke, it would be one thing, but it isn't. This game deliberately takes a major story from the Bible and corrupts it. If it were attacking a minority (other than Jews apparently), it would get lambasted, but because it attacks Christians and Jews, people laugh it off and say it's no big deal. I don't like political correctness either, but there's a difference between joking around and attacking a group.
