Hey nintendo people! After 5-6 years i decided to get into Nintendo gaming again.I want to buy a 2DS sinnce i dont really care for the 3D and i love the 2DS Alpha Sapphire bundle!Should i go on and buy it?Im asking because i saw Nintendo made the New 3DS with slightly better hardware so does that mean the end of the regular 3DS or they will keep making games and supporting the older 3DS?

Just go and buy it! I wanted to buy the 3ds XL but then I heard news about the new 3ds coming out. At first I thought I might wait but then I made a quick decision, bought the 2ds and having a blast. I will buy the new 3ds too, xl version, but most likely not when it comes out but rather when there are some decent games out for it...

Yeah, it's cheaper, but remember about the clamshell! The 2DS doesn't have a clamshell, so you would have to be comfortable carrying that thing around. It's too big to fit in a pocket!

Honestly, besides a cheaper price, I still don't see why the "NINTENDO 2DS" is necessary. You can play "NINTENDO DS" & "NINTENDO 3DS" games and turn off the 2D all on a regular "NINTENDO 3DS'.

Who are you?

I think that's the answer to the question right there!

It's not yet perfectly clear how Nintendo intends to push this device in all regions. The New Nintendo 3DS will at the least be getting Xenoblade exclusively, and I'd be surprised if it doesn't get a few more exclusive titles. However, I'd also be surprised if Nintendo completely abandoned the original 3DS within the next two years. I'm sure many games (like Majora's Mask 3D) moving forward will use the additional power, inputs, and features of the New 3DS to varying degrees, even if they are not exclusive to the New 3DS. In Japan, they are going to discontinue the older 3DS LL (XL) model completely (note the 2DS was never released in Japan). Some have tried comparing this to various upgrades in the past like the Game Boy Color, Game Boy SP, and DSi, but it doesn't seem to me it will be exactly like any of those.

It's very likely all regions will have an official New 3DS release before Majora's Mask 3D and Xenoblade Chronicles X are released. I'd at least wait until then to decide.

I like the shape of the 2DS better.

This is why I love my 2DS. It is the most comfortable handheld that I have played since the first model of the GBA. The PSP kinda comes close, but I feel the 2DS has a much better form factor, and nothing beats the really big and curved L & R buttons when playing games like Smash Bros.

After getting my 2DS, I could never go back to the boxy shape of the other DS and 3DS models. They just don't feel as comfortable to hold.

I won't lie, I kinda hope they do a New 2DS. A system that has all the features of the new 3DS, but has the form of a 2DS.

I might be a little late, but I would say get a 2DS if the price is good. Looking over the 3DS lineup in 2015, only one of those games is exclusive to the new 3DS. Everything else is coming to the 2DS and its siblings, including Majora's Mask 3D, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Code Name Steam, Fossil Fighters Frontier, and Story of Seasons. That's alot of games, which means its going to be awhile before the 2DS and its siblings are replaced on the market by the New 3DS.

One other thing to keep in mind is how much impact the New 3DS will make. Will it be like the Game Boy Color that pretty much eclipsed the older models in popularity and replaced them with tons of exclusive games coming out that were unplayable on older models of Game Boy? Or will it be like the DSi that was a fancier model that offered some extra bells and whistles over the DS Lite and DS, but outside of download games had a libary that was playable on on three models?

At this point in time, I think a 2DS is well worth the money. You're talking about a system with an insanely good library, an eshop that offers downloads of retail, smaller offerings, indie, NES, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color games. On top of that, you have apps like Hulu, and hardware that is comparable to the other 3DS models outside of 3D.

So, if you're looking for a system with a good library and tons of value, you can't go wrong with a 2DS.

I'd love nintendo if they made a "New 2DS" for thiis side of the world.

Bonus points if they make it compatible with the faceplates.

I think you should go for a 2ds because if you are like me and really want a 2ds. My dad said that 2ds is like a 3ds but 2d and you can only play on the 3ds for 30 minutes before your eyes start hurting. Also you can play 3ds games on a 2ds so . I think also you should go with your heart and don't let anybody or thing change your opinion or belief:)

@frannyadems I think you should look at the date of the first and last posts (prior to yours) on this thread and give yourself a good talking to

Please also bear in mind, Franny, that if you're here to troll etc. then your stay won't last that long.
