Topic: Recommendations on playing Persona Q (both 1 and 2) for someone who hasn’t played that much Persona

Pretty much what it’s stated on the title

I was thinking about playing either Persona Q game on my 3DS, but I was thinking about these questions and wanted to consult with actual people that have played the game

To take into consideration, the only Persona game I’ve ever played is P3R and that’s pretty much the only experience I have with turn based JRPGs. The only thing I know about these Persona Q games is that its gameplay is similar to Etrian Odyssey (which is sort of an RPG that you have to fill a map and stuff?). I have no problem with outdated mechanics and stuff (I’ll eventually get used to those, I guess). You can answer to any of these questions or not and just give your opinion on the game:

• would you recommend playing it in the first place
• how much is that similar to Persona games, or Etrian Odyssey
• is gameplay nice and dynamic AND has good story/lore or is just good at one of them
• do I also need to play Persona 4 and 5 to understand anything in the game
• and related to the last question, will I spoil P4 and/or P5 if i play either of those games (Persona Q)
