Topic: Puzzle and Dragons Z/Super Mario Edition

Are you playing Z as well? Where was that boss at?

I played about a hour of each game and I think I am going to continue with the Mario version first. The Z side was cool but it didn't grab me as fast. The familiarity of the Mario IP is making that side of the game more fun for me.

The area before the Wood Temple I think, and the boss you fight in the temple was just as damaging. Still wasn't hard, but things can get tricky if you're not careful.

Note to self, be careful of what relics or runes i use at the shrine. Got one hit by a pre-emtive attack.

As far as I can tell, there is no reason to keep more than 1 of any monster type, right? Unless you just want more of those for your team? In the mobile game, I think you fuse monsters you don't use to beef up your other monsters, or something, but this game handles that a little different.

Well, I'm keeping two of these blue dragon ones, your beginning dragons, because they evolve in different ways. Gotta fill that monster guide...catch em all... I never stick with completionist things, so we'll see how long that lasts.

They atk when their orbs are matched so if you have 3 wood monsters they will all atk when you line up wood orbs. You will get a lot more dmg out of them, but you wont have the dmg from the other elements. Its a balance thing haha.

On another note I wish I could swap the timer and skill bars around being left handed so I can see the timer better, but the game isn't to tough so I'll get over it.

If you have more fire monsters, then fire attacks will be higher....so, depends on the dungeon and all that if you want a full fire team or something balanced.

Either I'm doing something wrong or I'm getting severely unlucky at the world 2 boss on the Mario side. (the orbs I need never show up at the right time, ugh)

Got no problem in the first two dungeons in Z, but the water dragon almost oneshot me each time it attacks. The volcano part can be really tricky with the wrong team.

I Noticed something really useful in some monsters, the ones with very low HP (like 10 i guess) and stupid high defense. Try use poison on then, is incredible effective.

Any skill that ignores defense is also good, especially against metal dragons

@utopianmachine many of the monsters have multiple evolution paths as well, so you may want to consider having multiple so you can try different ones? I know that's what I plan to do in both versions of the game - one of each kind of final form.

Yeah, I eventually figured out about the evolution paths. I have been trying to keep that in mind. I was able to evolve a lot in the beginning, but now evolving is slowing. Suggests necessity to grind later, if wanting everything.

I'm still on the fence, I've got enough to play at the moment but I can see myself grabbing this when it's cheaper.

...Is there a soundtrack for Z somewhere, or do I have to deal....with Youtube for that? I'm loving the music in this game. owo

Finally picked up a copy. Started with the Mario one for the instant gratification I expect from puzzle games. Been good fun so far.

Lol, I just literally went through that area minutes ago! All the enemies being fire was quite easy.

...Ok what's the deal with those high defense enemies? Sometimes they take 1HP damage like normal...but randomly they'll end up with normal damage. Kinda bugs me, can't figure it out...doesn't look like the element matters, either...it just, happens.
