Topic: new 3ds xl... where to buy on launch. (USA)

i called gamestop, and there are none left for walk ins. same goes with best buy.

I have 2 options. either go to walmart at midnight or hit up target at 8am. which one seems more logical?

If I were you, I would try Walmart and if that didn't work I would go to Target in the morning.

I'll go with Walmart first since it opens at midnight. If that fails then you can go to target as a second chance.

Walmart in my town said they didn't have any, but the one 9 miles over in another town said they got two units in. I just got back from scoring a black system with Monster Hunter 4 ultimate and Zelda Majora's Mask. Couldn't wait for my MH4U LE, said screw it.

So I guess Nintendo really didn't ship many New 3DS units for this launch? It seems like their new strategy is to keep stock low and constantly put out limited editions that they know are guaranteed to sell. They are in a tough spot right now so their main goal is just to be profitable, but I don't really like this new strategy because it's basically creating a market for scalped hardware the moment it's released. I should be able to go out on the day a new system is released and find one, even if it's a limited edition.

The local Walmart has them in stock here...well only two of the black ones it seems.

My wal-mart only had 4 available. They had to go to the back to get them. 2 black and 2 red. I bought the 2 red ones.

I went to target at 8. They had about 6/7 of each color and they had 1 in the majoras mask edition.

Picked one up at Walmart at midnight. They only had 7 and I was fourth in line. If you didn't get one already you may have to wait a couple of weeks...no store in my "biggish" city had substantial stock.

I visited two Targets within an hour of opening. Each had received about five of each color. I was pretty surprised I was able to get one.
