@urrutiap
Well, there are some things you need to know first.
Do you like to see Fierce looking monsters on this game even the game tried to be kids friendly by Anime looking style ?
Do you like Turn based battle style ?
Monster Hunter Stories was basically Kids version of Monster Hunter franchise but it depend on your gaming taste.
I leave a video gameplay before considering this game.

@Urrutiap For that price it’s definitely worth it. In most online retailers I’ve explored the game has maintained its original value very stubbornly. But it’s essentially a different take on Monster Hunter with a JRPG story, turn-based battles, defeated monsters joining your party, some rideable monsters, a large world to traverse and a bevvy of content. It’s basically a JRPG and a slightly more cartoony approach to Monster Hunter with a somewhat noticeable Pokemon influence throughout.

It definitely aims at a slightly younger audience, but there’s plenty of heart contained within it and I could easily recommend it if you wanted a twist on Monster Hunter.

I've played and beaten the game. It took about 40 hours for me to clear the main story, but I also did a lot of exploring and other side content.

The plot is the cliche "Chosen one saves the world" story complete with the chip on their shoulder rival and adorable partner, but it's still fairly interesting at points. It's most recommended for those who enjoy exploration, collecting and raising monsters, collecting items, crafting (though it's really simplified in this game), and/or those who are already fans of the Monster Hunter series.

For $13, you can definitely do a lot worse.

I mean, at 13 bucks, it is easily worth a go. I have spent much more than that on a single meal, so the hours of fun content you could possibly have far outweighs the price of the game itself. Besides that, the art style is cartoony and very nice, in my opinion, and it has its own charm.

i went and bought the game while i was out of town and went to a walmart store. Monster Hunter Stories is the cheapest game at Walmart right now for 11 bucks while Dragon Quest 8 is still at 31 bucks.

I still wouldnt mind getting Yo Kai Watch 1 since its also pretty cheap on clearance. I dont know a whole lot about Yo Kai Watch but arent younger kids into the cartoon show or whatever?

@urrutiap I was going to point out that there is demo of Monster Hunter Stories both in the eShop and on mobile - but I think you made the right choice, anyway. I bought a copy myself a week or so ago for ten quid!

Yokai Watch is a great series, if you enjoy Pokemon-style games. First one is maybe the weakest, but still a very decent game in its own right. I got a 3DS copy for £1.99. These stock clearances are great!
