I am wondering that because I am going to be picking up the Flare red one next week so I am wondering if anyone who has bought a 3DS recently has notices or maybe heard something about Nintendo fixing the screen scratching problems when you close the 3DS. Or if maybe any of the review staff know if the Flare Red 3DS has those problems at all.

Not sure yet. I had that problem, do i sent it in and Nintendo replaced it.

This might not be the case with the new 3DS, but if it is I would recommend buying the "Hori Screen protector" just for the sake of not having to send it in to Nintendo every few months

Woah just googled it and realised I have this problem too. What do you have to send it back to nintendo for?

Well, I just would because of the fact the scratch could only get worse over time. Though now the Screen protector takes this whole problem away.

Yeah I heard that screen protectors work and I was planning on buying some anyways cause I hate getting smudges and what not on the screens but I was wondering if Nintendo fixed this known problem.

I gave up. I have one of those black silk cloths that are so shiny that are used on glasses. Folded over it's a little longer and wider than the unit by an inch, but I haven't had a mark since.

Well, what exactly happens when you close the screen, 'cause I haven't noticed any damage yet, but, I don't irreversable damage done to my 3DS.

If I have the problem, what should I be seeing on my 3DS screen?

I'm assuming they're talking about the small marks the bottom screen makes on the top screen when you close it. If they are, I never thought of that as a defect.........

I have screen protectors on my top and bottom screens and no problems what so ever.
