Ten years ago, Kid Icarus Uprising released in Japan on March 22nd, 2011. The game released a day later in North America and Europe, while our Australian friends had to wait until the 29th.
The game remains one of my favorites on the system, I bought the game on launch day and put way too many hours into the online multiplayer. It was actually through KI:U that I made some of my closest friends, with friendships that are almost a decade strong.
I'm hoping that some memories of your time with KI:U can be shared, whether you're a Day 1 veteran, or you just picked up the game last week, which people still do. KI:U Multiplayer is gonna be a major eSport in 2037, just wait!
I really should go back to this game, I finished it but there's a lot of replay value in the achievements and multiplayer which I haven't done enough of. It's a very very good game, easily one of the most impressive on the 3DS.
I remember back in the day, I used to play Kid Icarus Uprising with people on NintendoLife. There was this really annoying @Knuckles guy who kept shooting me with a Laser Staff. Wonder what he's up to.
I’ve always wanted to play this game, but was never able to get a 3DS. I’m holding out that they’ll release it for switch..

If you are responding to me in forums or a comment I would much appreciate it if you quoted or tagged me in your responses so I can see it and respond. Otherwise I usually can’t tell that you’ve replied. Thanks!
@Snatcher As in, physically destroyed, or just don't register inputs anymore? Because the most common cause of that issue until the New 3DS models was dust getting stuck in the shoulder buttons and not registering the press. A can of air would fix it if that was the case.
@Knuckles Well, at first my 3ds button actually broke, in such a way it would just make the R button stuck, not the button, but the input, so I when't into the thing, and even after I disconnected it, it was still acting as if im holding R.
I open it back up and I figured out that part of the chip got damaged somehow (Even tho I took really good care of it) I rip it off, and I had to forever say goodbye to the R button, but I stripped a screw or two just getting it opened, so as I go back in there just to see if I can fix it somehow, even after breaking the chip part off, (I at least had my L right?) the yellow tape thing making the L work snapped.....Yep, story of my galaxy 3ds LOL.
I really wish I never when't back to check, if I never did, my L would be working. ( Maybe I could get a replacement? but im not sure)
So yeah its actually broken, and I have no idea how the R button got how it is, if only I put tape on my
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

Sorry for not being active much recently, but I’m very much alive!
I actually bought the game digitally, used to have it physically but sold it a long time ago. The news of the eShops going down got me back into a 3DS mood and I was starting to miss this game again.
Controls never bothered me too much, always found a comfortable position where I could hold the system up with something other than my hand. (I also like to sit in chair in a weird way in general, so, yeah. xD)

Keep it PG-13-ish.
I remember wanting my mom to pre-order the game so I could also get the virtual console kid Icarus game but it was too late. Though I did end up buying a download code for it at GameStop.
Unfortunately my old black 3DS battery can’t hold a charge for very long without dying.
Day 1 Vet here. I got into the game as a result of my experiences at the San Francisco Game Developer's Conference back in 2012. It was really awesome to see knockback/flinching prevention be given an intuitive happy medium, and the Power system only proved better as time has went on. I ended up with this to say: https://warriorsuprising.wordpress.com/2020/05/12/clubs-in-ki...

Same here. One of my very favorite games on the system. Played in through many times. Love this game to bits.
The PSVR is the best VR system on the market today.
...I will say, playing this game again...there's a new small problem with the controls that I've never dealt with before.
...
The New 2DS XL stylus...I hate it. xD
Anyways yeah, I missed the silly back and forth between Pit and Palutena.
