Imo, I say don't let one side character's support conversations stop you from enjoying what is, imo, the greatest game I've played this generation.

I'm not saying that it's not a bummer, but, we are talking really small details here in a really big game. I mean, if it bothers you that much then it's totally up to you on what you do. But I can personally tell you, having played the games now for myself, that if we didn't know about the changes made nobody would be complaining at all. Because the game is absolutely fantastic as it is. And I think there is a big difference between a game that is actually bad and a game that is simply 1% less excellent than what it was in Japan. There are countless supports that are really great- some better than others of course, just like Awakening, but overall there are just SO many lines of witty, humorous dialog in this game that missing out on a few here and there really isn't that big a deal.

I usually average 55,000g on one 8-Turn Defend run of the Ghostly Gold map. I only played the XP map once to try it, but I hear the gold Faceless give great XP for anyone, and the common green Faceless it will depend on the unit. I will say though- the DLC maps are 10x better than Awakening's DLC maps were. The Ghostly Gold Map is fantastic, as is the Beach Brawl map from a strategic point of view. You pick a team of 3, and make your way through this HUGE, sprawling map, no healers, only getting a vulnerably here and there from enemies. The boss, at first, is so powerful you can barely do any damage. So you can't fight the boss right away. But if you make your way progressively through the map and take on little groups of enemies in a strategic order, you will get items like Speedwings and Secret Books and all manner of stat boosts, and by the time you defeat all the rest of the enemies you will have grown powerful enough to take on the boss.

The best thing about that map is there are eight different teams of three to choose from (one for each of the royals) and depending on the team you choose will determine how difficult it is to make your way through the maps and it will determine who you face as a boss. So there is an absolute truckload of replayability just for this one map alone. And it's one of the most difficult and strategic maps I have ever personally played. A+++++

@JaxonH oh that sounds really interesting, I really enjoyed some chapters where you had to fight with limited units like 5x of Sacred Stones. I'm not sure if I will purchase that yet though.
I already got the Fates n3DS as well as Conquest, Revelation and TP HD and plan on getting some games in April so I want to save more money.

I'm loving making everyone into the vanguard class. Makes me feel I have a army of Ikes.

Im starting to get hyped for the next Fire Emblem game in the series now...

Will it be on 3DS? Or will that system be replaced by then? Will it go back to home consoles as an NX entry? Where will Fire Emblem go next?

I'd like to see a remake of the Tellius games where the Laguz use stones instead of the awful transformation system they had.

Ya that would be great. I originally played the games on my modded Wii (can play Wii or GameCube from hard drive), but I bought them as soon as I found a decent price. Think I got PoR used for $76 (it's like $120 now) and sealed for $200. RD was only $65 used and $100 sealed I believe (price has actually come down for the sealed copies, around $80 now I think).

@JaxonH: I presume fates is amazing then? I'm really hyped for that special edition as I feel like I'm really getting that complete edition! What console it will be on depends, It'll probably be on 3ds if the system is still being supported (My theory is that they will move on to the new 3ds as it has too much untapped potential!) If they've moved on the most likely NX which would be nice to finally get another console game and in HD! Those cutscenes will look incredible and I'm sure the game itself would be great with the NX controller! If Nintendo does a good one!

Ya it's fantastic.

The 6 chapter leadup to the choice feels rushed, so the emotional impact there isn't what it should have been. And Birthright's characters are pretty bland, and its story is kinda meh til the home stretch. But. BUT. That last stretch of chapters is excellent. And the ending is woah. And the maps are WAY better than anything the series has offered before (granted mostly Route Enemy objectives in Birthright). And the gameplay? Oh man lemme tell ya. LET ME TELL YA. It's perfecto. They fixed practically everything from Awakening that needed fixing, the pairing system is spot on, the weapon buffs/debuffs add so much more strategy than managing uses did... Redeems the game for sure. After I finished it, in hindsight, I decided I liked it as much as Awakening.

But Conquest, oh man, that game is right off the bat so much better than Birthright, which was already one of the best games on 3DS. The characters have very interesting personalities like Awakening's. Big difference from Birthright. And the maps are even BETTER, which is saying something. And the objectives are so varied and diverse that, coupled with the best maps the series has ever had, it elevates the game from great to legendary imo. I've heard the story isn't as good as Birthright's but so far, at least, I say it's better. There's some out there, goofy stuff you have to buy into, but I have a broad imagination. I don't mind stories that are out there a little. It's the journey along the way that's important.

My bro says Revelation's story puts both the others to shame it's so much better, but I can't confirm or deny it because I haven't gotten to that game yet.
