Etrian Odyssey, Wizardry, Might and Magic its all here with Elminage. The Game went on sale for the first time this week and let me tell you. It is a great 9.99 pick up. I played all day yesterday. All of the games I mentioned and Dungeons and Dragons memories came rushing back to me. I like the 3d usage in the game it looks cool like your looking in a box so the Stereoscopic 3d is neat to look at. Now if you buy this gem be sure to do yourself a favor and read the Manual. There is some information in there that is detrimental to the game. Also do yourself a favor and figure out how to roll and create your team. In the long run you will be glad you did. You can also add picture avatars of your characters using the 3ds Camera. You can use the pictures for your avatar and for the action shot during battles. If you want to just jump in and play you can use the pre-rolled generic characters thats are already available. Like I said try rolling your for characters. Graphics are not the best but the music fits and the gameplay is nice and smooth. At first you might feel like this is a generic version of Etrian odyssey, Wizardry and Might and Magic but it is anything but generic. Once you read the Manual you will be right as rain. Any fan of Etrian, Wizardry, Might and Magic and Dungeons and Dragons will love Elminage.

After playing a bit more I realize this game is not a simple walk in the forest. In fact its downright hard. Wander into the wrong part of the game and your group is wiped out. Its a breath of fresh air to be honest. With most of these games going casual, easy to just kind of walk through and wnjoy the stories. Get ready for a tough time. After you beat the first dungeon....its on!

I am at the final dungeon now. Have gotten all the rings. My team smokes. It's only 'bad' in the sense that it's a direct homage to Wizardry. Lots of people hate archaic gameplay, hence all the 'bad' reviews, but I like to see it in 1st person dungeon crawlers. If it ain't archaic, it ain't a dungeon crawler.

All 1st person dungeon crawlers are generic 'cause they all follow the same patterns (make party, go in dungeon, kill stuff, explore, go back to town and sell all your crap), but 'generic' doesn't always mean 'bad.' I like the ones that follow AD&D rulesets, like Elminage and The Dark Spire. The EO series doesn't do a thing for me. It's too 'modern' in its approach and I don't like that.

@Windy I've finally beaten game at 69 hours :3 The last dungeon is quite long, but luckily you can unlock shortcuts if you get far enough.
