I'm considering to buy 3DS version of Smash Bros (I already own and played Wii U version of it, btw).
Since I don't have anyone to play with I'll be playing it completely solo, so I need something that could be considered as a sort of campaign to play through and complete it.
So I see the Classic mode and Smash Run as a nice options, with Smash Run being really interesting and exclusive to 3DS , but is it worth it to puchase this version of the game with such mindset and just for these modes alone? Or are these modes serve as a complimentary side activity and won't make a lot of playtime?
@anynamereally This is somwon who has put hours into the game and I would say ya, if your going to play it solo your good but the funny thing is once you play SSBU you wont ever want to go back.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside. Me like purah 😊

Currently playing: Xenoblade 2 torna. Sekiro. Xenoblade.
@Snatcher the funny thing is once I completed campaign for SSBU, which was quite captivating and lasted for 40-50 hours, I've been completely left out with nothing to do in this game. I had no interest in online multiplayer matches, had no interest in spirit collectathon craziness, and sadly had no one to play with locally on one console (which IMO has the most appeal in smash bros series and brings a lot of meaning to the game). No other game mode gave me any kind of incentive to continue playing SSBU.
On the contrary SMB on Wii U provided quite a few things to do - Event Mode and Smash Tour was my favorite modes. And you could also try to fill up the museum with all the 3D figurines that come with bits of retro trivia text. Strangely enough I had no interest in collecting Spirits in SSBU, but figurines somehow kept me interested throughout this game.
So all in all I look for something similar in 3DS version. Something that could add a bit of lasting value to the game aside from never-ending VS mode with its primary focus on multiplayer and live opponents.
oh yeah, that's a nice activity, I'll probably spend some time on that as well.
so in the end Smash Run and a proper Trophies Vault sealed the deal for me. ordered and now waiting for my copy to arrive.
forgot to post my update here.
the final answer is: no, it's not worth it. lol
if you already own a Wii U version there's no real meaning for owning 3ds version as well.
