Topic: Australia getting the new 3ds earlier

So obviously Japan get the new 3ds first which I doubt many people would argue with since Nintendo is a Japanese company after all.
But how do you feel knowing Australia gets the system before anyone in Europe and North America. Honestly I don't mind since I got the Japanese new 3ds anyway but I do feel that Australia always gets stuff later then any other country and its feels like they are forgotten at times.

haha ok.
To be honest, australia deserves to get something sooner than others for once.

Personally I didnt like the idea at all. I bought myself a 2ds about three weeks ago, just because of the New 3ds coming out somewhere in the future I would have bought a 3ds XL but then I thought, why invest that money when in about a years time the new 3ds will be available, presumably for the same price. So I bought the 2ds... I will probably not buy the new 3ds right when it comes out , it will depend on the games and as of now only xenoblade has been announced and even that seems far away, anyone know when its scheduled to come out?

Well, I'm jealous but I can't argue against Australia getting it early. They seem to be left in the back burner a lot so they definitely deserve it I think

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

I just got a 3DS but I'm sad, there is no Flipnote3D.
I was really mad, but I got friends eventually, playing Mario Cart7, who has it?

Wussup....duck? Sorry im really weird....

Floofy

And I also agree, Australia should get something first, like Japan has Flipnote3D already! They should of gave it to Australia.Since Japan made the Nintendo 3DS n stuff, that doesn't mean THEY get their own ideas in Japan....not to be mean it seems kind of selfish, plus it'll sell more if its sold everywhere at once, so they should finish whatever they need to finish, completely and sell it everywhere instead of their own place.

they should bring out that a new console all over the world at once, otherwise its quite confusing. They even didnt announce a proper release dat as far as I know, just 2015...

Nintendo doesn't know how to do anything right.

We're still left on the "back burner" though. At present, there is no compelling reason whatsoever for existing 3DS owners to upgrade to a New 3DS. Heck, I don't think that there are any Japanese exclusives at the time of writing either. The only good thing about the release of the New 3DS is that anybody who decides to buy one now will be prepared for any New 3DS exclusive games that may be released in future. I would expect the New 3DS to be launched in Europe and America alongside the release of a New 3DS exclusive as these markets are large enough to sustain a New 3DS exclusive. I think that the main reason why the New 3DS was released in Australia and New Zealand first, is because by the time a New 3DS exclusive game is released in Australia, at least there will be a potential audience of several (tens of?) thousand gamers across the country who already own a New 3DS by that point. A New 3DS exclusive would probably sell atrociously otherwise.

At present, there is no amiibo support for Super Smash Bros. or any other 3DS game for that matter, no games other than Smash that take advantage of the New 3DS' superior CPU (Pokémon X/Y/OR/AS could have really benefited from this), no GBA VC support, nothing. If for some reason, one needs to replace their 3DS, then the New 3DS is a no brainer. I would like to have supported the launch of the New 3DS in Australia as a sign of appreciation for Nintendo releasing it here before the rest of the world, but we won't be getting any New 3DS exclusive software until the rest of the world does anyway. =/

Porygon did nothing wrong.

I never like the idea of not launching globally on the same day. But I am lucky Australia is considered the same region as Europe, so I imported a New 3DS XL a month ago. In contrast to some people here talking out of zero experience with the New 3DS, I for one find there is reason to upgrade. The 3D is a remarkable upgrade, rock-solid while you can move comfortably without focusing on that sweet spot. The increased CPU speed makes it so all software runs faster, the startup time of Miiverse, friendslist, shop, you name it. The New 3DS is night and day to use, ignorance is bliss I guess.

To be honest, ever since the Japan reveal the reasons to upgrade have been very limited. Sure the 3D is improved and everything takes less time to load but what is the main reason to upgrade a handheld? The games or screen size of course of which nothing has been announced for the former except Xenoblade Chronicles remake and the difference in the latter is negligible.

Yes it is for me, because the 3D in 3DS is very important to me. I always play with the slider on maximum setting and I stare for hours on end to the screen, that's pretty much all the reason I personally need to upgrade. The viewing experience is so much better, I don't see how that can be just a small part.

But each has to decide for themselves the reason(s) to upgrade, but can't help most of the comments I read here are little more then 'I cannot get it anyway, so downplaying the reason to upgrade works better for me'. Lets talk again when it hits the western markets, I'm sure most people will approach it differently.

Don't mind it, but I hope it doesn't take forever to come to America. I get nintendo's reasons but they shouldn't wait TOO long.

I think it's kinda unfair, and that it should have been a worldwide release. I mean, nothing is stopping Nintendo, is it?

I absolutely hate it that they didn't release it here yet (in the Netherlands that is), but as SeVok I am an avid fan of 3D and want the better 3D experience, it is said it is so much better now. Because of that, I decided to import one and it is underway to me now.

But it should have been released here as well, at least within a month after the release in Japan and Australia. Now I took a risk on import fees and the no warranty issue is there as well.

I read somewhere that the reason for it is that in Europe and NA the standard 3DS sales were still fine and dandy and they want to sell the normal stock before launching it in those areas. Pretty bad way to openly come out with this information, but they simply are here to make money as are all other companies.

Australia got alot of games earlier than Europe during the GBA and DS days but that seemed to end when the 3DS hit.

I might seem selfish, but I think it should have come to Europe as well. I mean, we're pushed aside almost as much as them.

Nintendo wanting to sell through the remaining stock is understandable, but that would mean it comes later in 2015, which is even more unfair - Iwata even said that it may come in the second half of 2015.

Yeah, that is why I decided to take the risk and import it, I imported it through fishpond and am hoping that since it will be sent without tracking and all of that, the chance of the package getting intercepted by customs will be close to zero. And my biggest concern is, will it get here without any defects (in relation to warranty), but the chance of that happening is pretty slim, though still there of course. Since I paid through Paypal I am at least certain that I will get reimbursed when the package might get lost in the process.

I do think interest will wane if Nintendo waits TOO long. I'm hoping its out in march or April in NA.
