Topic: 2 Pokemon games 1 DS XL Help!

I am new to forums so forgive me if i have posted in the wrong one. I just need to know one thing. My husband and I bought Pokemon X and Y. We only have one DS XL. We are planning on getting him his own. Will he have to start a new game and lose all of his work, or will he just simply have to pop in the game cartridge and carry on! Please help me with this, I can't seem to find an answer on Google and it's bothering him not knowing if he will have to start all over again. Thank you sincerely for your time!

First off, do you mean 3DS? Pokemon X and Y cannot be played on the DS.

Second, if you got the Pokemon game cards, then the save data will be on the card itself. If your husband were to play on one 3DS, he can save the game and continue it on another 3DS.

The data is saved to the game card, not the 3DS.

Unless it's a downloaded version, in that case the game is stuck in the system.
