I think we can all agree that the Direct should start with Smash and have content available directly after the presentation. That's always a hype guarantee.

They normally end with Smash, which I think is better.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
I'd like to see them start off by revealing TP HD similarly to how they revealed Majora's Mask 3D. It was pretty awesome how they did that (though I guess part of the excitement came from them catching everyone off guard).
While I'm really looking forward to it and very glad we finally have a Direct on the horizon, my expectations are pretty tempered. With Iwata's passing, the mobile rollout, the new account system and the NX all looming, Nintendo is definitely in a major transition period at the moment — I don't expect them to go balls out on this one.
That said, I'm certainly anticipating a surprise or two. On the same day he mentioned that there would be at least one Direct this year, Kimishima also said that Nintendo still has unannounced games for this holiday season. So that could be interesting.
Doesn't look like President K will make an appearance as it's been confirmed that Shigeki Morimoto will be hosting the Japanese Direct and Satoru Shibata will host the EU Direct.
@VeeFlamesNL: Considering all the actually awful stuff that people say about other developers that are non-nintendo, harmless teasing seems completely fine in comparison. TBH
A Star Fox game is added to the Wii U VC after the direct. Probably Star Fox 64. Might be original Star Fox. Unlikely to be one of the GameCube Star Fox games.

I'll admit that I had a fanboy scream from the Majora's Mask 3D reveal
