It's kinda lame to rely too much on crowd-funding like Kickstarter. For a developer's standpoint it's sorta unprofessional. But still I understand that some independent studios needs the appropriate funds to develop their game.

Zyph commented on Rumour: The Recent Wii U System Update Has Boo...:

Most games already been developed before won't really benefit from this I believe. They have already been developed using stock performance assuming the developers capped the game performance to a specific clock rate. This is more so in terms of RAM. For example, if game X was made to use only 1.2Ghz of CPU then even if it was overclocked to 3.0Ghz, it won't make any difference. Same as if they only made it to utilize 1GB of memory then they will only use that amount. Unless devs issue an update to make their games adapt to the clock changes made to the hardware then obviously we'll see our games perform relatively well than usual.
To be clear, "overclocking" the system is too risky even for Nintendo. I reckon that 3.24Ghz clock rate is the native clock rate (if ever this rumor is true though) and they just released an update to release the cap.
If this rumor is actually true and if you see that games like Orochi 3 Hyper still has those occasional frame drops then most likely they need to patch the game to match with the improved clock rates. Or maybe the changes only applies the system menu and OS and not for games.
Most hardware makers usually under-clock the CPU/GPU to lessen power consumption just like they did on 3DS, which the PICA200 GPU was natively clocked at 400Mhz but Nintendo opted to clock it down to 200Mhz or less.

I don't like how some people say that Nintendo is already pushed to the point of desperation because of something like this. I mean c'mon, this must've been in the works for some time now and it's a good business opportunity for them. It's great they're reaching out to different kinds of developers out there that they can potentially do good business with, with or without the sales momentum they wanted for Wii U.

I only play FPS for the fun of it especially the campaign. And I honestly enjoy them. I don't really indulge myself to the multiplayer aspect though. Games like Monster Hunter got that covered.

Unlike EA, Activision wouldn't miss a chance to release Call of Duty on Nintendo consoles. Heck they always release them on Wii as well as DS. Activision loves money! So no surprise here.

Zyph commented on Nintendo Won't Be Holding A Large-Scale Press ...:

As much as I want Nintendo to do a full-blown stage event, this move is very practical in many ways. Nintendo Direct presentations do a lot of good for Nintendo. The question is HOW are they gonna execute this in a smart and wisely manner. The value/worth of E3 is declining. The big 3 can hold press conferences whenever they want anyway and Nintendo is already doing it with the Direct videos and actually doing a fantastic job with it. E3 can be considered a waste of money for some publishers and they can hold their own events their own way and in any time.
In any case Nintendo will still be present at E3. They just won't do a stage event. All that's important is to showcase their games and announce what they need to announce to attract the audience.

The Wii U Direct last January gave us hope for more titles down the line. I'm sure we'll hear something again in the coming months. Like the 3DS, I'm sure Nintendo themselves won't neglect their own console.
