Re: The World Is In Such A Mess, Investors Actually Want Nintendo To Raise The Price Of The Switch 2

Here is my 2 cent. They need to get their user base up. I would do this: Announce some big banging games coming soon, hopefully getting two really big ones in before the winter holidays. Then, in the same sentence say something like "we are investigating price increases".

This would probably tip a lot of people over the edge and buy now, rather than later. Then, raise the price after the initial influx of people. If those upcoming things are "not enough", they probably are not limited by the current lack of content, but rather life situation, or something else, and they are non-customers until whatever that is changes.

Then, they need to make a cheaper version. They must release a switch 2 lite (superlite). The regular switch 2 is hands down too expensive for little kids to play with. Do the switch lite route, but more aggressive. Drop everything to make it as cheap as possible. Smaller 720p 30fps screen, no joycons, so no optical sensor, only 1 gyro, probably no "hd rumble", just normal rumble. Cheaper sticks (maybe 3ds-kind), cheaper buttons, smaller and cheaper storage (slower load if possible), less gddr ram due to lower resolution, no dock support, no charger in the box (everyone already have usb-c chargers), no nothing. It must be impulse-buy price. This is how you get the platform flying. People like me would buy it just to "throw it in the bag" and bring it wherever. I would buy one for all my kids. It MUST be less than half the price, probably much cheaper. It SHOULD be smaller, to fit kids hands and strength, and be easier to carry.

Nintendo is effectively the only "kid safe" platform, but they do not have a current product that can be given to kids. It is baffling. They should have had the switch 2 lite from the get-go.
