Whats this all about?
Pure Nostalgia, I had one of these in my early teens.
I found this by chance on the internet and ordered one as well as a few cartridges, mostly my favourate games from when I had my NES clone - Castlevania I&II, Contra I&II and Ninja Gaiden II&III.
Of course I have Castlevania III on the SNES Mini now and its great, I never had this one when I had my NES clone, its a treat to play it now.
This reproduction - also a NES clone has a few improvements over the one I had in my early teens:
-USB power input
-HDMI output
-Selectable 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio
-Wireless controllers
Thank you for the game recommendations, I'm definitely going to try and download some of them and install them on my SNES Mini
Already installed Donkey Kong 2, 3, Killer Instinct and Dracula X - I love it!
This is so much better than the original SNES, the suspend point option is great.
Hate the forced 4:3 aspect ratio, however with the availability of aftermarket emulators that can fill the whole screen it is a problem easily bypassed.
Also love being able to play NES games on the SNES Mini.
Aftermarket wireless controllers are awesome, no more wires
