I think most of the value is the box and the iconic art on them, almost (if not all) NES games are 30+ years by now and that cardboard is only going to get more fragile, and valuable in time as the binder (usually its some kind of glue) used to make the cardboard degrades)
That does make wonder, if the degrading boxes that are still in good condition selling for that much, what is the original artwork is worth? I'm guessing that we may never know because nintendo likely still has it and will never let it go.

I have the feeling this started out as a 3DS game but was moved to the switch as Nintendo changes focus from the 3DS to the switch.
