@Hirsbrunner Nothing wrong with a little extra cheese, especially nowadays. I wasn't expecting Nintendo to cover a breakup, like at all, but it had a nice message about family so I can't complain and we did get some new footage of Ocarina of Time.
Although Pikmin 1 on the GameCube is my absolute favorite, serving as my introduction to RTS-like games and to the Pikmin franchise, I actually really enjoyed Hey! Pikmin for what it is and tried. Of course, the home console games are always going to offer the unique gameplay mechanics that we all fell in love with, but Hey! Pikmin is an adorably weird game that tries something different.
I know the people at BioWare that made some of the most iconic games like Mass Effect and KOTOR have long left the studio, but it's still a shame for those who remained that have now lost their job. I hope they're able to land on their feet soon.
A bit of a cop out, but I love all the Directs we've had from the 2010s and up until now. Something about the way Nintendo does it, makes it feel like an event (ironic because it is lol) but I mean it makes it feel personal and special. Like it's not so corporate and more aimed at fans.
My favorite year would be 2013 because it ignited (like a wild fire) my love for Nintendo even more especially for my beloved 3DS - which had Pokemon X and Y, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds, Fire Emblem Awakening and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Animal Crossing New Leaf and Mario & Luigi Dream Team. And it felt like every other month we were getting news for upcoming releases.
And that is also the year I got my Wii U with the Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD edition (although I got my Wii U from a family friend's son who didn't want the Wii U so I got a semi CIB with no digital game since he wanted that lol). But 2013 for Wii U also was such a special year because everyone wanted the PS4 and Xbox One with GTA 5 and I just wanted a Wii U. Watching the Nintendo Directs in 2013 had so much for that year alone: Pikmin 3, The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD, Super Mario 3D World, The Wonderful 101, Sonic Lost World, Rayman Legends, and Amazing Spider-Man: Ultimate Edition.
@GreenyD Same, when the Wind Waker HD edition WII U came out in 2013, I asked for that for Christmas while everyone else wanted a PS4 or Xbox One with GTA 5. And now I get to play Ocarina of Time on my hopefully new Switch 2 in a few weeks.
I'm defintely going to be spending my entire winter break on Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave and Ocarina of Time remake (aiming to 100 percent both). I'm currently beating Path of Radiance on my Gamecube, just beat Wind Waker and I'm halfway done to doing a Living Dex on Brilliant Diamond on my Switch Lite. So it's going to be a great holidays with some more great memories.
I beat a few months ago Ocarina of Time 3D and Link Between Worlds on my 3DS. I'd argue that it's still my favorite Nintendo system of all time - console, handheld or otherwise.
It's funny how history repeats itself. I ended up getting my 25th anniversary edition The Legend of Zelda 3DS with Ocarina of Time in 2011, and I lost count at how many times I played through the 3DS remake. Now I get to experience that wonderful joy all over again - so fingers crossed I can find a 40th anniversary The Legend of Zelda Switch 2 at my local Target or Walmart when it releases in a few weeks (haven't been lucky with any of the pre-orders).
Honestly I have no gripes or complaints, the game looks absolutely stunning and one thing I love is the way you see streaks during the combat. Like it looks so smooth and satisfying to land hits on your enemies.

I don't know what to cry over, the heartwarming message about family or how good that new Ocarina of Time gameplay footage looks.

Still love me some Pikmin.

@LivinLL Okay, that's all the time I've got. I've gotta get back to playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf on my Nintendo 3DS.
