@SalvorHardin I've played fortnite for a grand total of 30 minutes. Looks fun, seems like it would be fun but I just dont play a lot of multi-player games. Sonic on the other hand I've really tried and well I liked the dreamcast/gamecube one and Knuckles looks cool.

Fortnite cheapens everything it touches with its crossovers. Nintendo have been very sensible keeping all their IP away from it.

I think this says more about SEGA and Sonic than I would like to admit.

This was more a matter of when it would happen, than if it would. Still weird that PUBG got Sonic stuff before Fortnite. Feels like it should have been the other way around

Interesting! I haven’t played Fortnite for a while but this is intriguing that’s for sure.

So, I started playing this game actively when they added Hatsune Miku, and it's genuinely fun. The Simpsons season they did was a blast, and I love the other modes like the Festival one that's basically the return of Rock Band. (I also really liked Rocket Racing, but that one is unfortunately being removed in October.)

This will likely be fun too.

I agree that Fortnite cheapens crossovers and makes them feel less special, but I promise you that something you like collabing with a game that you aren't even willing to give a try is not the end of the world. If you are being miserable about this, lighten the hell up.

Considering the close proximity of the Minecraft and Pac-Man Sonic crossovers happening both ways, it does make me wonder if Fortnite will be in the 2nd Sonic Racing CrossWorlds season pass.

I’ve played Fortnite since chapter 5 season 1 but after chapter 6 season 3 I haven’t played much. I think that Sonic was rumored to be in the game quite some time ago so this will definitely be exciting!

I wish Adult Protective Services would find a new company to take care of Sonic…

Another winning crossover event, strengthens IP all around with cross promotion as well. And why not really.

Would be an issue if the Fortnite as a live service game was questionable, but apart from Epic being a terrible company with the layoffs, I can’t fault the actual game itself.

Seems deeply uncool to me, but like, I'm not the target audience for FORTNITE, so it doesn't matter, I guess.

@Booloon Actually Sonic stuff in Fortnite predates PUBG by one month. Fortnite got a collab in September 2025 and PUBG October 2025.

@OdnetninAges Right on. This game is actually fun as heck. I never took interest in it, because so many people on the internet talking trash I thought it wasn’t worth my time, and I mostly play retro games and fighting games so I assumed it was out of my wheelhouse. My kids started playing it and asked me to join. Oh boy I was missing out. The game is just genuinely fun. And it isn’t just battle royale. The game has a game making function built in so there are thousands of different games to play, from RPGs, to simulations, to survival horror. Everything is there. It reminds me of the days when I used to be up all night playing StarCraft, when I had enough competitive 1v1 Lost Temple, I would hop onto the “Use Map Settings” games.

I think most people talking trash just do it as a hive mind thing and actually haven’t given the game a fair try, which is a shame since it’s free. Likely people just got irritated by the memes or wanted cheap dopamine likes on the internet for cracking on it.
