DRAGON QUEST XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition is an amazing game, but Square Enix's Switch 2 version has admittedly fallen short of fan expectations.

If you haven't already seen it, Japanese retailers are stocking a GKC version with a "special sleeve". Here's a look at it alongside the standard box art (via social media):

"The package version of the Nintendo Switch™ 2 edition of "Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age" comes with an exclusive sleeve!"

As you can see, it's basically the existing cover art with gold details and trim. On the back, there's also an emblem and some lovely pixel art.

In our review of the Switch 2 version, we said Dragon Quest XI S was still worth a look if you're a newcomer, or even a fan looking to do a fresh run (thanks to the performance boosts). Otherwise, you might be better off waiting for a sale on this one.
