JRPG fans in the UK have something to celebrate this week. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has topped the latest Uk sales charts, and not only that, it's broken a series record in the process.
Monolith Soft's critically-acclaimed game debuted at number one the week it launched, proving this highly-anticipated juggernaut is proving a hit with critics and audiences.
The data, provided by GfK, also reveals that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has now had the biggest and best launch in the UK in the entire franchise. Yes, counting even the PS2's Xenosaga Episode II, a game within the wider Xeno franchise. (Xenosaga I, III, and Xenogears, have never been officially released in the UK.)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge also makes its chart debut following the game's physical launch last week. The retro-throwback brawler has charted in a solid eighth. Last week's RPG debutant — Live A Live — has sadly slipped down to 23rd after a surprisingly solid first week
Our last newcomer for the week is Digimon Survive, which has managed to scramble into tenth place, despite fan concerns it would be overshadowed by Nintendo's big RPG.

XC3 is so good!
Happy to see Xenoblade 3 at number one there.
Well deserved
It's been a long time since I felt happy a game hit number one. (Y'know, Zelda, Fifa, GTA etc are all obvious.)
So awesome to see. Monolith Soft made a real gem here and glad to see it getting some good sales.
Not really surprising that it became the fastes selling in the franchise considering the circumstances the other XC games launched in but still glad to see

Impressive...but very well deserved. The game is a jewel, period.
Monolith are generous, they make those HUGE game filled with alternatives, possibilities, big stories, one of my favourite studio.
They upped their game in storytelling/emotion for XC3 albeit some characters are annoying haha.
I CANNOT wait to see what they will be able to do with a next-gen switch.

Glad to see the game topping the charts over here in the UK as well, expected it in the US and Japan but wasn't sure if it'd manage to get to number 1 over here.
XC 3 is so good. Everything is refined and the story is superb. Love the pathfinder that show you the route on the ground, save much time and makes it easier to explore without getting lost.
Let's see if it surpasses Xenoblade 2 lifetime sales soon. Happy to see this franchise grow little by little.

It's Xenoblade 3 time!! This game is da boss and it's good to beat a record! I guess people are really feeling it and they want something a bit meatier.

Never doubted XC3s launch. It's the biggest game of July.
What a game! It struck me last night how much more mature this game is in terms of writing, character design and story in comparison to XC2 . Also the musical composition deserves multiple awards.

I feel that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was made for the UK audience. Also surprise seeing Shredder's Revenge up there, over here our physical release had not even began.
Our "friends" over at Pushsquare refused to acknowledge XC3, so why does NL go out of its way to mention PS5 and past PS consoles in many of its sales articles?
@Serpenterror you can buy the physical release I got mine from Game last week.
Not sure if that’s good or bad for digimon.
@Outerdragon I'm from the USA, we won't be seeing a physical release til September for some reason, good that y'all in the UK got yours early.
Xenoblade 3 is worlds better than any of the western rpgs. I hope it stays on top for some time at least.
Great to see Xenoblade doing so well. Like FromSoft and Elden Ring Being rewarded for years of top games. You love to see it!
