UK indie studio Dream Harvest has shared the first look at its upcoming cyberpunk adventure, NeuroNet: Mendax Proxy.
The game's headed to Switch and other platforms in the new year (no specific date has been announced just yet) and is said to combine elements of games such as Yes, Your Grace, Reigns, and Astrologaster. It has decision making and story-driven gameplay at its core, as you'll see throughout the ten minutes of new footage above.
Players will take control of an AI tasked with managing a cyberpunk city called Catena; the job requires quick-fire decision making that can have an impact on the future and prosperity of the city's citizens, with every choice "having a lasting effect" on the people you meet and the city’s status. Here's a feature list:
Branching Narrative: A ‘Reigns’ inspired branching narrative where player choice directly impacts the story, with some outcomes benefiting the citizens of Catena and others benefitting someone else...
Quick Decisions: Characters pose problems that offer quick-fire decisions, but they are deceptively simple and have far-reaching repercussions. Good instincts are required to make the right choice at the right time.
Choices That Matter: See the impact of every choice you make as your influence spreads across the city. Analyse reports and read the social media feeds of the population to observe the effects. Throughout the overarching story, your decisions will change the path and decide the outcome.
Diverse Cast: Meet and build relationships with 23 diverse and fully voiced characters. Guide each one on their journey as they face the tough challenges life in Catena presents.
Compelling Events: Over 5000 story events to experience, each offering choices that affect the characters you meet.
Rich Lore: Explore the world of Catena through an expansive digital Codex packed with deep lore, engaging characters, and stunning cyberpunk environments.
With multiple endings to discover, NeuroNet: Mendax Proxy could be one to look out for next year. Feel free to share your early thoughts on the game below.

ugh, this is tough. the art style and quality goes from amazing to just off. sometimes within the same image. frustrating!!
Myeah, this isn't for me, I think. While I like the graphical style, there's just not enough "game". And just reading all the interactions, I might as well pick up a book instead.
A game where all you do is make decisions to move the story doesn't really sound that bad, reminds me of the give yourself Goosebumps book where you read and had to make a decision after certain page and then reach a concluding ending whether good, bad, sad, happy, or lame. Hopefully it had a ton of multiple endings to keep us coming back to play.
