I feel like Casio is here to stay. Even I own a reproduction of the Casio F100, the A100, which is a reproduction of the one Ripley wore in 1979 “Aliens.”

For all the people dismissing it, yes, it’s just a digital watch and not a smart watch, but it does have some of the newer sought-after features like solar charging and auto time adjustments:

@Deathstar461 This isn't by Nintendo though. It's by Hobonichi, a company started by the creator of the Mother series. He owns the rights, he can do all the merchandise he wants.

@Don : They should just issue an uncensored Asia-exclusive physical release (with English support, obviously), "cultural sensitivities" be damned.

The G-Shock Square is my favorite watch by far. I'm wearing one of the higher end full metal versions right now. This is yet another one to add to my shopping list.

I'll wait until the good folks in China make replicas of this on Aliexpress for 20 bucks.

I have never understood Japan's obsession with Casio G-Shock watches.

Better get an Apple Watch or a Samsung Galaxy Watch.

The 5600 is still the coolest watch out there.

I don't get people who still ask for Mother 3. There's a great fan translation that has been available for years and the game itself could not be translated nowadays as the contents would cause an uproar in the western hemisphere. There's a reason Nintendo has been silent on it so take the hint and play the fan translation

@nessisonett Even after reading it was there, I had to watch the watch for several seconds to spot both references that make this average watch a 'Mother' watch.

@steely_pete Honestly I think most people just what Earthbound/Mother to be acknowledged by Nintendo on modern hardware besides Smash Bros.

I will probably never wear another watch now that I have my Apple Watch and all its functionality, but I must say I'm a sucker for these watches. They take me back to my childhood.

The Mother branding is subtle, but awesome.

That's a pretty ballsy markup for putting two extremely tiny decals on a ~$50 base model. Geeeeeeeesh!

@ChromaticDracula Alien, she wore the Casio in the first movie. She wore the amazing Seiko “ripley” Giugiaro in Aliens. Both amazing cool retro watches.

@LudoAnders baahhhh I knew I should’ve fact checked myself before I posted that. I forgot if it was Alien or Aliens and was too lazy to check. 😂
Anyway, the watch is great. Wish the A100 had 24 hour time (it does not 😩) and I wish the screen was a tad bigger but otherwise it’s an amazing piece of daily equipment.
So anyway, I want this Mother watch.

You can barely tell there's anything special about this watch. You got to look carefully to see the branding.

Gaames, give us a Collection set Nintendo. Also, I'm disappointed that the watch does not resemble the Dali Clock. And it's certainly not worth $200 to anyone except diehard fans and scalpers
