Don't Starve is a familiar name among some eager Nintendo download gamers, having been released on Wii U and more recently Switch. Yet it's the standalone multiplayer follow-up, Don't Starve Together, that went on to be an enormous success on PC in particular, and in today's Indie World it was confirmed that it's finally on its way in Spring.
It'll be interesting to see whether it'll bring its huge success on other platforms over to the Switch; below is some of its official description.
Fight, Farm, Build and Explore Together in the standalone multiplayer expansion to the uncompromising wilderness survival game, Don't Starve.
Enter a strange and unexplored world full of odd creatures, hidden dangers, and ancient secrets. Gather resources to craft items and build structures that match your survival style. Play your way as you unravel the mysteries of "The Constant".
Cooperate with your friends in a private game, or find new friends online. Work with other players to survive the harsh environment, or strike out on your own.
Do whatever it takes, but most importantly, Don't Starve.
Starting now for the next week, meanwhile, is a Nintendo Switch Online Game Trial for the original in North America, so it's a good chance to see what the franchise is all about.
Is this on your radar for next Spring?

I wonder if Tim Burton plays this game.
this one is painfully overdue.
the fact Don't Starve is on Switch, but Don't Starve Together isn't (yet), feels like a glaring omission for a system built with co-op in mind.
makes me wonder what the delay was.
@CharlieGirl It seems there is a growing list of other "painfully overdue" games that were hinted at but still haven't arrived on Switch. Hopefully people still enjoy them, but it's not as "trendy" as it was a few years ago
Fall Guys is another example of arriving way too late while other consoles had it for years.
the fact they still care about dont starve on switch despite seeing next to nobody talk about it makes me happy

or
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass
Sorry to have to ask, it's probably just NSO, but if it were NSO+EP would the title have said so? Not all of them have in the past: "Poll: Paper Mario Is Out Now On Nintendo Switch Online, Will You Be Playing It?"
Thoughts on using +EP in titles and subtitles @ThomasBW84 ?
@Astral-Grain unless Fall Guys goes free to play, it is gonna be Dead on Arrival for Switch. I wouldn't be surprised if the Switch release gets quietly canceled.
Wonderful artwork, definitely will check it out.
Ah, so Together is a separate game - that answers my potential questions about save files and unlocks. Certainly going on my wishlist, although if the co-op is its only new feature, I might keep it just for said until I'm done with everything in the original.
@CharlieGirl I had imagined it would have gone free to play already, I thought the entire reason why Epic Games bought it was to make it free to play like Rocket League, that would revive Fall Guys instantly, but well, they took like a year to make RL free to play, one can only dream
Took them long enough
Jokes on them, I don't have any friends to not survive with.
