Animal Crossing may well be taking up all the headlines thanks to its shiny new update and DLC pack out today, but don't forget that a brand new variant of the Nintendo Switch Lite has also arrived on the market.
Yes, the special Pokémon Dialga & Palkia Edition Switch Lite is now available to buy at select retailers worldwide. You don't need us to tell you that the console would be the perfect system to couple with Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, which are launching for Switch in two weeks' time on the 19th.
We've gathered up some buying options for you below if you're interested in grabbing one. Sporting a cool grey colouring, the system features artwork of Dialga and Palkia and is actually based on the design of an old DS Lite.

It is a nice looking Switch, but sadly for me, without the docking feature, the Lite is not a valuable buy.
That looks amazing
Very very nice looking! Shame it doesn’t have either game pre-installed though.
RELEASE THE SCALPERS!!!!
A chibi remake getting a special edition of a chibi model. Perfectly balanced, as it should be.
@nessisonett
That's a good point, seems odd to not include the game they represent.
That said, it is a beautiful looking system. If I had cash to throw away I'd pick this up. My OG Switch will have to do
@nhSnork Stability updates are hitting differently these days it seems. Nintendo are the best innovators.
I really like the hommage to the special DP Nintendo DS Lite, too bad it's a Switch Lite and not an OLED Switch (although I guess a Switch Lite suits that game more anyway)
@Bunkerneath the scalpers have been released
The link to the page about the DS Lite is broken.
Got mine! Looking forward to the unboxing.
I just wish it stood out just a tad more with coloured analog sticks and/or buttons like the Sword/Shield edition.
I have the DS it’s inspired by. Great looking system. I might pick this up if I see it.
Much prefer the Zacian & Zamazenta model personally, but surely a nice thing to have. Enjoy if you're getting one.
If I ever got a lite it would be this design.
Beautiful system. I'll content myself with my Zacian & Zamazenta model, though.
I picked up this model today, looks awesome in person.
No dock feature? No thanks.
Honestly don't think reselling will be such a big issue, you can still get the SwSh Switch Lite at the store and they have it for sale at GameStops all over the place. So I cancelled my preordee for this just like the Monser Hunter edition. Will save for the next iteration of the Switch
It'd be great if they made an OLED Switch Lite, which almost makes more sense, since that model can only be played looking at its screen.
Cuz I kinda wanna get a second Switch, but not the OLED model, I'd rather get the Lite model at this point, especially if I were to install one of those translucent color shells.
I got mine today. Looks great. Is already my fourth Lite. Switch Lite is the best option for me as I only play 100% in handheld mode. I generally don't like playing on TV, regardless of the system. In addition, in handheld mode with the Switch Standard and OLED, they do not have a D-Pad. And the solutions from Hori work well, but their D-Pad is too stiff. I get pain in the joint of my thumb after long sessions. The Lite's D-pad is perfect. Maybe not so good for fighting games, but Tetris, platformer, a dream. 99% of the time I only play D-Pad games. Retro, retro style indies, 2D games.
I prefer the look of the standard grey Lite with white buttons. I am also waiting for an OLED version of Switch Lite
