As part of Pokémon's 25th anniversary this year, The Pokémon Company has announced the 23rd film Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle will debut on Netflix here in the west on October 8th.
It follows the adventures of Ash and Pikachu as they encounter the Mythical Zarude to overcome the danger that threatens the jungle. Here's the full synopsis:
"In this new animated adventure, a troop of the Mythical Pokémon Zarude live deep within the Forest of Okoya where they maintain a strict rule that forbids outsiders from entering their territory. Elsewhere in the jungle lives Koko, a human boy raised by a lone Zarude who left the troop. Koko has grown up never doubting that he is a Zarude, but one day, a chance meeting with Ash and Pikachu leaves Koko with his first human friend. Is Koko truly a Pokémon? Or is he, in fact, a human? When danger threatens the jungle, the bonds between Pokémon and humans—and the love between parent and child—will be put to the test."

As long as pickachu is in here it's a pokemon movie
that's nice. Might watch it someday
@Thelastjedi2007 the article literally mentions "Ash and Pikachu"...
@anoyonmus did I stutter
I’m more interested in the shiny Celebi & Dada Zarude distribution for Sword/Shield that’s in collaboration with the movie here that was in the newsletter as well.
Spoiler alert: Zarude gets OHKO when the bad guy uses U-turn. But pikachu revives Zarude with the power of tears. Very touching.
23 fcukin movies?! Gawtdamn, that's a lot of stories to tell in the pokemon world.
This movie hadn’t come out yet!?
I had no idea that there were this many Pokemom movies out in the wild! It would take forever to watch all of these from the beginning plus the tv shows!
Sheesh that trailer looks terrible. I'm glad I prefer the games to the anime.
Haven't watched a Pokemon show or movie in like 15 years.. Might watch this just too see what the animation is like since I'm sure I will be lost with all the characters and 8th gen (or whatever absurd number they have) Pokemon I've never seen or heard or before.
October 8th huh? Cool, I'll let this roll in the background while I start Metroid Dread!
Only liked the first pokemon movie. Still wish we had a proper conclusion on Mew VS Mewtwo battle.
The rest were just expensive fillers for me.
