Following on from the release of Pop Flamer last week, Hamster's now made another Jaleco arcade classic available.
This one is a puzzle game known as Soldam, which was originally released in 1992. If you feel like you might have already played this on the Nintendo Switch before, then you've likely played a new version of the game with updated graphics and gameplay - released on the eShop in 2017.
In the arcade original, your task is to help "fairy folk" line up rows of the same colour fruit horizontally to remove them.

This latest Arcade Archives release will set you back $7.99 USD - the same price as the updated version on Switch.
Will you be trying out the original version of Soldam? Leave a comment down below.

Even with the information, it doesn't seem like a really good thing.
...........
stares at the fairy's butt in that one pic >///>
I love puzzle games and it is neat to see arcade puzzle games, but the game play looks bland. If someone has played it, correct me if I am wrong.
Prefer the look of the original over the remake. I'll give it a spin.

Yikes. I’m definitely not confusing it with the newer game. Ahem nice art assets.
I only like the arcade puzzle games on an arcade, the gameplay just is not there to keep me interested when I'm not jugging on a half broken arcade stick. While the light, smell and sounds of an arcade try to overstimulate my senses.
There’s this one Jaleco platform game where I think the main character dies and he can take over other enemies in the game and you can play as them as he tries to rescue his girlfriend. Can’t think of the name at the moment but I hope to see that game on the arcade archives someday. This puzzle game here seems interesting so I’ll check this out.
@shonenjump86 Avenging Spirit, also had a game boy release. I'm hoping to see that one in the near future as well.
@KnightRider666 ah thanks, that’s the name. I actually have the GB game on 3DS.
Oddly enough, I think the only other console port Soldam ever got released was on the original Game Boy.
It seems there was a Famicom port planned.
Allow me to shill for the 2017 game for a second. If your looking for something different than Tetris or Puyo Puyo, this might scratch your puzzler itch. The music and art style are also a treat, really reminds me of a budget N64/Dreamcast game
@Joeynator3000 How dare you! I for one am admiring her mind, professional drive and courage!
@Tandy255 I have the “updated” version, and yes it is very bland. I’ve been a puzzle gamer since the 80s, loving everything from Tetris to Puzzle Star Sweep (ps1) to Magnetica (DS), and countless (probably hundreds) of others but something about the Soldam gameplay is such a bore… or a chore… either way it’s definitely not engaging 😔
Looks like sexist trash for men who live online
