Update: Inateck's Indiegogo campaign is now live! Make sure to head on over if you're interested in getting one of these for yourself – an early bird discount is still available at the time of writing.
Original Article (Fri 13th Aug, 2021 12:00 BST): Electronics and peripheral maker Inateck is about to launch its latest tech accessory, a super-smart looking storage and travel case for the Nintendo Switch.
The Inateck Ultimate Protective Nintendo Switch Case lets you store your console, Joy-Con, games and more inside what appears to be a nicely guarded case; you'll notice that it features rubber bumps around every edge, something that Inateck calls its 360° protection concept.
Each of the Switch's many bits and pieces, from the plug to the Joy-Con straps and HDMI cable, can all be slotted into the various compartments on offer (bear in mind that unlike the larger-style cases from companies like Tomtoc, this is designed for portable travel and doesn't include space for the Switch's dock). It also comes with a YKK metal zipper, a discreet handle, and an "anti-splash" exterior.
The case will soon be sold on Indiegogo – if you sign up to notifications from the upcoming campaign, you'll get access to a 50% off early bird deal. It looks like it could well be a very decent storage option, so as long as the price is right it might be worth signing up to take advantage of that offer.

Definitely looks like a solid case, especially if you want to pack a lot of accessories in there.
That said, I'm still using the official Nintendo carry case for my launch Switch, but I'm in the market to get a second carry case for my Switch OLED in October. The official cases also come with a screen protector however, and the design is more compact which has me leaning that way.
Carrying your switch is almost as if you’re going to work with your laptop .
Looks solid though.
Yes, but does it hold the upcoming OLED model?
I don't carry cartridges like this case encourages us to. I like to keep them in their physical boxes. This way, when you put all of your games together, it looks like some kind of library. And it feels tidier :3
@Thrallherd
The games I'm currently playing I may put in the carry case, otherwise they're kept in their original box when I'm done playing with them.
My shelf space is annoyingly limited though and I want a real shelf solution for all my games.
I mean... it does look like a solid case. But the Switch distinctly does not lack nice case options. I don't see what makes this one particularly better than many other quality options.
@Hck It most definitely should as the new Switch should be the same size as original Switch. The OLED Switch has a bigger screen due to reduced bezels. The original Switch screen has pretty large bezels.
If the OLED Switch would be bigger, it would introduce larger Joy-Con's and thus incompatibility with existing Joy-cons.
I don't think Nintendo wants to produce two different sets of Joy-con's and start causing confusion with risk of people buying wrong set of joy-cons for their Switch.
The OLED screen on the new Switch console is only 0,8inch larger. That is just 0,4inch ( 1cm ) smaller bezel on each corner.
The current Switch has 1,5cm bezel on each corner which will be reduced to 0,5cm on the new OLED Switch.
@Thrallherd all my switch carts go in a storage case for easy access and the boxes get chucked under the spare bed out of the way.
@Jeronan The Switch OLED is slightly physically bigger with regard to exterior dimensions (3mm wider)... shouldn't affect the case in this article... but could affect tight fitting accessories.
This case is actually to small for the joycons I'm using. Had to go with the one of the mumba ones.
@The_Pixel_King Yes but then like said above we only talk about 3mm extra in wide.
It cannot be higher, because of Joy-con dimensions.
So all in all, it should not affect this case at least.
But there are other hardcases that have an already very tight fit with current Switch, so those might be problematic for the new OLED switch then.
50% off what? It doesn't have a price.
mm looks cozy. tho if im gonna bring my switch, charger, and joycon grip around, that probably means im already bringing my backpack with me to hold switch gear and other stuff. this is nice and compact though
This is a massive upgrade over my current case, which has suffered years of wear and tear at this point. I went ahead and signed up for the newsletter with the 50% discount, but what that 50% is off of will really determine if I'm going to actually buy one. If the price tag is over $100, I'm just not gonna.
@RevrsblSedgewick
Exactly and since it's IndieGoGo, this immediately raises red flags for me.
IndieGoGo is notorious for lack of rules and the 50% discount will just end up being a total scam and just the normal retail price in the end. If the case gets produced at all that is.
Where's the Dock option??
"Sufficient space for the joy cons" - Well yeah... the thing is practically a suitcase !!
NGL, looks pretty solid.
Whats so special about a YKK zipper?
@Hck We are Inateck Official to answer your question. Glad to tell you our Switch case can totally hold the new OLED model! Welcome to subscribe and back it at indiegogo! You'll love this case!
@RevrsblSedgewick Inateck Official to answer your question. Thanks for your reminder, we have updated our Pre-launch page with price here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/inateck-ultimate-protective-nintendo-switch-case/coming_soon/x/27119044
Super early bird deal is only 25USD, while early bird deal is 29USD. Shipping fee will occur to the UK but not much.
@Desrever happy to hear you like Inateck switch case! Good news is, after 50% off super early bird discount, the case is only 25USD, free shipping to the US btw. Really affordable right? You can totally subscribe, cheers!
@SwitchForce sorry but the Dock can not be put in this Switch case, but joy cons can fit in it, thanks!
@SaturnHero YKK is the pioneer of zipper, stands for the top-level of quality in the market, sure the cost will be materiel higher for us, but Inateck insists making a solid Switch case, that's why we use YKK zipper.
LOL, they only offered fifty cases at 50% off (gone), and the regular price is a sky-high $50 U.S.?
Can it hold the Nintendo Pro Controller in one of those pockets?
Very cool, probably going to stick with my Satisfye case though since it can fit the Switch with the grip on.
I got some sorta random case that does pretty much the same thing. It doesn't look as nice and might have one pocket less, but I'm not sure what's so special about this one here. I got my case around the Switch's launch window so its not like this idea is even new.
If this came out 4 years ago I would have probably bought it. My current case does the job.
I would have bought one, but international shipping causes the total cost to go from $40 AUD to $62 AUD, so I'll be passing on it.
@Total_Weirdo This Switch case can not hold the controller, as the controller is too thick. But the joy-cons can fit in it, thanks!
