E3 might have skipped last year, but in 2021 it's making a comeback as an all-virtual event. In the latest update, several high-profile publishers and developers have been officially locked in. This includes tech, hardware, and streaming companies, too.
So, who are they? There's Square Enix, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Sega, XSEED Games / Marvelous USA, Gearbox Entertainment, Freedom Games, Devious Eye Entertainment, Turtle Beach, Verizon and Binge.com.
These companies will join the likes of Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games, Koch Media and Activision. One publisher who has pulled out though in recent weeks is Konami - explaining how it's simply not ready to present at this year's show.
This year's broadcast will be hosted by Greg Miller, Jacki Jing and Alex 'Goldenboy' Mendez, and will take place from Saturday, 12th June through to Tuesday 15th June. You can learn more in our E3 2021 guide.
Will you be tuning into this year's all-digital event? What are you hoping to see? Tell us down in the comments.

New 3D Sonic please... we've waited long enough.
(Oh, and I guess more Elden Ring would be nice too.)
I kinda only care about Bandai Namco for this line up.
Sega and Square Enix are hype additions. I'm hoping they've got some great trailers to play, since they can be just as exciting as Nintendo depending on the year.
Crossing my fingers for some Final Fantasy 16, Sakura Wars, or whatever Sonic's got in store.
Dark Souls 2, Switch version please! Super excited for that!!
NINJA APPROVED
MISERY AHEAD
NEVER GIVE UP SKELETON
Wait wait wait, Verizon!? What does Verizon have to show? A cloud gaming platform like the last hundred non-gaming companies (and Microsoft) has done?
@HotGoomba yeah idk what they have to show
E3 has basically been digital for those of us at home for years, so not too much of a change from the norm in my eyes. I'm just thrilled E3 is even a thing this year!
Hopes are high per usual, but I know I'll be let down haha. Metroid Prime and 2D, Final Fantasy 16 and a throw back remake, Zelda botw2 and top down style, Donkey Kong Country remakes and new entry, Elden Ring, so many awesome things that won't happen
@Slowdive Yes, please, SquareEnix! FF I-VI and DQ 4-6 are a must on Switch!
Not asking for much... All I need is Atlus 25th anniversary of Persona announcements (and P5R switch port), Bamco giving Digimon Survive release date, Nintendo announcing botw2 release date and FE remasters/remakes and then Xbox showing off Starfield and giving it a release date as well.
@HotGoomba E3 also shows tech demos for new devices, so I would imagine that Verizon would take the opportunity to show new phones or tablets.
@BloodNinja Isn't Verizon a network provider and not a manufacturer?
@HotGoomba I'm not sure how their company is structured, so if they are marketing new phones or tablets I'm sure it's through paid partnerships with other tech companies that produce for them. That's why I said, "I would imagine," as in "that's my best guess."
Nice lineup of companies there. Hopefully a nice lineup of games announced at E3.
From SEGA, what I want more than anything is a collection of their 90's arcade games. Something similar to Capcom's Arcade Stadium would be superb.
@shonenjump86 A Sonic Colors remaster along with the other ports like two Adventure games, Unleashed, Generations, Lost World, and also a new 3D Sonic game with Adventure style similar to Sonic 06.
@HotGoomba It might be a Game Pass collaboration like how in the UK there's a Game Pass collaboration with EE. Buy certain phones with EE network and you get Game Pass Ultimate subscription with it.
I'm only really excited for Square Enix. Probably means FFVII Remake on other consoles, and I really want to pick that up. If it's not announced, then I'll just buy the original, but I really want the remake. And SEGA too, possible Sonic Movie 2 announcement and new 3D Sonic Game. Sonic Colors has popped up on Amazon for a remake, so...
Can't wait to see what SEGA has in store. Of course there are rumors of Sonic Colors remastered floating around, but also, I'd like to see what new game they've been working on for Sonic's 30th Anniversary. With any luck it will be as good as Sonic Generations, but at the very least I'd like it to be better than Sonic Forces.
Really hoping for Chrono Trigger and FF I-VI collection!
As a sega fan since day one, I hope there's no sonic. My goodness. One more rehash and that will be it. However, if Sega opened up their amazing catalog and just started going to work, the players would be the lucky ones! Skies of Arcadia would be nice...
@Bizaster very well said...You never know with Nintendo.
@Chrysologus after playing DQ XI S on Switch. I'd love to hear about anything Dragon Quest. That was amazing.
@Bizaster true. We'll have to wait and see!
