Way back in the distant past of 2017, Mom Hid My Game! was a quirky inclusion in one of Nintendo's early-era Nindie Showcases. Originating on mobile, it's a simple premise in which you investigate scenes and solve puzzles to find what is clearly a DS, and that's pretty much it. Its charming style and simplicity, along with a budget price, made it a bit of a cult hit on the Switch and 3DS eShop back then.
We've been caught on the hop, somewhat, with a press release dropping today to confirm that Mom Hid My Game! 2 arrives in today's download update on Nintendo Switch. It still has hap Inc. as the publisher, with KEMCO helping out with development for consoles; the trailer below made its debut earlier in the week on the PlayStation YouTube channel, so it rather passed us by.
It looks like more of the same, right down to the fact you're still hunting for the same DS-inspired handheld. It could be fun though, with the game promising 50 stages and teasing a surprise once you clear them all.
It'll drop later today in the usual eShop update, then, with a price tag of £4.99USD / £4.49; will you be finding it on the store and picking it up?

I like how the article is showing off the Playstation trailer on a Nintendo site.
Buy this and KEMCO can use the money to fund its latest RPG Maker trash.
Surely they could have gone with Dad hid my game! or are the game's designers from a single parent family?
The first one was a fun little time waster that provided some amusing moments. However, it seemed a bit of a one trick pony in the sense that I don't see how it could warrant a sequel. I'll wait for a review before taking the plunge
@Enigk eh? You could then apply the same argument.
@Lordplops I mean the sequel should have been called Dad hid my Game! The third entry could then be My dog ran buried my game! They could mix up the formula for that one upsetting their fan base for changing the series too much.
@Enigk This is actually larger than you'd think "franchise" of little mobile games for the developer. One of them is actually My Brother Ate My Pudding!
Doesn't sound interesting to me. The first game never captured my attention either.
I can't believe this gets a second game and yet there's so many other games out there that need a second game.
@dsparil Already that game has a better name.
Loved the first game and really the whole series. Downloaded the game right away! Can’t wait! Really good dumb fun.
The first game was this dev's small minority of decent games
Simple but fun little game series.
I saw this game on 3DS a while ago. Didn't buy it, but it looks fun enough.
When i was a kid I used to play mom sold my game. No seriously she'd sell my games to buy weed and booze. Came home from school one day and my super Nintendo was gone. I kid you not!
@Enigk uhm... The developer is japanese. Men typically work for long hours, and it's usually mandatory to drink with the staff to keep a good social face, so I doubt she would be pictured as a single parent
@Enigk why do you have such a hate agains (Single) mother’s ?
@Reaktor I have nothing against single mothers. It was a flippant comment saying the title lacked creativity. I don’t hate anyone to be honest. People you don’t know are genuinely not worth that much effort and I know no one personally who is that annoying or evil to warrant it.
