One of the first big releases on the Nintendo Switch this month is Respawn Entertainment's battle royale, Apex Legends.
It arrives as a free-to-play title next week on 9th March and will thrust players into Season 8, while also granting Switch players 30 free levels and double XP gains for the first two weeks. To build some excitement for this upcoming release, the official Apex Legends YouTube has released a new trailer, showcasing the Nintendo Switch version of the game in action.
As noted in the above trailer, Switch players will also receive a new Legendary Pathfinder skin. Keep in mind, this is a limited-time offer, so be sure to act fast. If you are planning on checking out Apex Legends, according to Nintendo's website, you'll need at least 30GB of free space.
Will you be giving Apex Legends a go when it arrives on the Switch next week? Leave a comment down below.

30 GB is nothing to sneeze at! But yeah I'll be giving this a shot.
I played it for about an hour on PS4 at launch and enjoyed it but I never kept playing because I pretty much only play the Switch these days.
If only I could transfer my progress From ps4, I would be playing this all the time.
Apex is like the one good battle royale shooter.
Doesn't even look half bad tbh.
Can't wait to give it a try!
No way it looks and runs this good.
If i does and it has gyro I will certainly play it!
30gb??!! Blimey. Not sure I’ll be downloading that then sadly
@Friendly Panic Button worked on the port, incredible things are possible.
@Mr_Humpf you're absolutely right! I'm very hopeful.
Going to skip on this for two reasons, my ps4 account has so much cosmetic unlocks and purchases plus I'm like level 400.
My second reason is that shooters are awful on the switch especially on handheld, I've tried paladins, wolfenstein and overwatch in handheld mode and it was an awful experience, only shooter I can deal with on teh switch is splatoon 2 which I'm OK with
Wow, it looks really impressive! I'll give it a try for sure!
30GB is pretty big, my new 512GB card is already almost filled up and I haven't even re-downloaded all my games on it.
For games that take up this much space I can always use my old card which is 256GB. Unfortunately I have no interest in Apex Legends or any Battle Royale shooter to be honest. Not even Splatoon interests me and I'm a big fan of most things Nintendo so go figure.
Considering they are calling this a gameplay video you would think they would be actual gameplay we will all see if you get the game. But there is no Hud display in this so it must be gameplay footage for developers only.
Wish they’d ported Titanfall 2 instead, that game has probably one of the best single player campaigns in any game.
So a gameplay video with no actual gameplay.
I dont see the point in porting these games across, a fast paced shooter like Apex running at 30FPS is like watching a 3d movie with the old red & blue glasses - it kind of does what it sets out to do, but not in a way that's enjoyable.
With cross play Switch players are also going to be going up against people playing at 60FPS (and soon 120FPS) whilst likely being stuck at 30 with a reduced FoV and visual clarity. Enjoy getting hammered repeatedly in that arena.
@UltimateOtaku91 with gyro the FPS games are BETTER on switch. Well as long as they're 60fps.
Paladins for example plays better than Xbox and ps4
@Mr-Fuggles777 yes but can you play 120fps while taking a s***? On an actual toilet? Jokes aside I get your point...I'm not great at these games as don't have the time to dedicate to them, so as a casual gamer I won't mind too much about the drop to 30fps.
Also to mitigate this didn't Fortnites matchmaking bias Switch users together so the advantage levelled out a bit?
30gb is a big lump but I'll give it a go no doubt.
I will play this at extremely rare occasions on Nintendo Switch, but primarily I will wait until they add Cross-Progression/Save.
@tamantayoshi With an actual aiming and shooting system, not some weird cobbled together engine
@Mdhoover you can play xbox games on the toilet on yoir phone via Remote Play. I haven't played Apex but Destiny 2 runs buttery smooth.
@Mr-Fuggles777 ha I stand corrected, I hadn't considered that!
I'll steam link to the loo next time I'm there haha.
I wonder whether the free-to-play model is trumping the $60 proper game with no in-game-selling and actual substance to the content?
@Friendly maybe there is a way. We all know we need a switch pro. The original switch is more capable then people think. Not because of brute force power but architecture and modernization. It’s time for a pro but his doesn’t surprise me one bit.
As someone who plays this on PC, I'm looking forward to having this on my Switch. Recently upgraded my SD card for the extra space too. I'm a Lifeline main ready to help my fellow Switch players on the battlefield.
Looks cool, ill give it a whirl. Could you imagine if they added a battle royale mode to Splatoon 3 though? Now that I’d play in a heartbeat!
I really hope people new to Apex give it a chance on switch - definitely more suited for docked/pro controller play - but once you get a hang of it, it's a blast with lots of fun characters and ways to play with a team
@Sahnec
That's actually a good idea. It would really help diversify the game modes of Splatoon.
@The_Pixel_King
It's F2P so no NSO required!
I am so happy apex is on the switch.
Well, I haven't been adding to my backlog so 30gbs by the 9th sounds doable.
I'm hoping this port takes advantage of gyro aiming. Hand-held mode will really suffer without it, especially if Cross-Play is involved. (Hopefully there'll be an option to turn off cross-play, just to see what the switch community will be like)
I made a account seeing this post tell you guys are going to get melted over n over i have 9k games over couple months its sweaty af absolute slaughter fest going back to the lobby have fun dont rage stay with boys ping use cover n please use your shield cells
@Mr-Fuggles777 Its definitely noticeable but who sucks at 30fps, is gonna suck at 120fps and vice versa. It only adds so much to skill level and responsiveness. Some even think 120fps is too much.
if anyone is interested in getting into Apex Legends, I would be happy to help - just DM me on twitter @chefsanjithe
Looks pretty good. I'll be downloading ASAP. I imagine it will run great with lots of dynamic resolution and dips but good frame pacing and 30FPS. It looks smooth but will have to jump in to play it myself. I'm still loving Rogue Company which I feel is a simple and underrated shooter on Switch.
