Nintendo has shared an updated list of Europe's most-downloaded Switch eShop games, revealing which titles were the most popular during February 2021.
It's perhaps no surprise to see that Nintendo's very own Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury has gone straight in at number one after launching on the 12th of the month. It knocks last's month's number one, Among Us, down into second place.
Bravely Default II has also managed to make its way into the top ten in its opening month, despite only launching on the 26th.
You can check out the full list below. It's based on the number of Nintendo eShop downloads (so no physical sales) in European territories during the whole month:
- Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
- Among Us
- Minecraft
- Stardew Valley
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Little Nightmares II
- Pokémon Sword
- Bravely Default II
- Super Mario Party
- Super Mario 3D All-Stars
- Hades
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
- Ghosts 'N Goblins Resurrection
Did you download any of these titles on Switch last month? Any surprises in the top 15? Tell us below.

Neat to see Ghosts 'N Goblins on there; I didn't realize it had that much of an audience. Guess I underestimated it
Honestly really cool to see Ghost and Goblins. Felt like it was gonna get more overshadowed
If Ghosts and Goblins weren’t so difficult, I would have gotten it. I think it looks really cool
33⅓% Mario! Glad Bravely Default II did well digitally.
Amazing that Ghosts and Goblin's made it.
Now imagine MH Rise on the list. WONDER where it will be.
No wonder Capcom supports the switch as much as they can, they know they can make plenty of money off of it
@rockodoodle You shouldn't let that put you off as there are 4 difficulty levels, with the default one Legendary being the most difficult and man is it tough. But the lower difficulties make it much more doable and far less frustrating. The 2nd lowest being comparable to say Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is to Switch what GTA V is to Xbox/PlayStation!
Suprised Minecraft is still going. Thought everybody already had it.
Ghost and Goblins is great! I only play it on legendary however; my son who is 4 wanted to play so i reduced the difficulty and we played 2 player. He played as the ghost and I used Arthur and we beat the first 2 levels before he got board.
I am loving the game and the art style
Stardew Valley is basically never number 1 but it's basically always on these lists. Pretty amazing.
@OorWullie And the lowest being comparable to Kirby Star Allies lol
Some good games in that list.
@IsabelleIsHot As long as people are buying new Switches, people'll be buying Minecraft, I suspect.
Strong results for Little Nightmares 2 and Bravely Default 2.
@OorWullie I am just not the most skilled player. I find DKTF very difficult, even in chill mode. How is the easiest level?
@rockodoodle I can’t exactly answer that question, but if the gameplay looks fun to you, take a chance and play the easiest mode. Surely with a little grit and perseverance, you can process through the game without too much frustration. (Maybe wait for a sale as well, but I say go for it. Especially if you enjoy the aesthetics, music etc.)
Pretty sure I’m picking it up too, just gotta wait ‘til I finish a few more games.
Anyway good luck deciding, hope I’m not leading you astray!
@rockodoodle I haven't tried the easiest level but from what I've read, it's pretty easy going. It's aimed at those who just want to make their way through the game without much of a challenge.
It's a really stunning looking game..The levels are big with a lot of variety and each level has 2 seperate stages, one based on Ghosts n Goblins, the other Ghouls n Ghosts. So even with most of the challenge taken away, I'm sure you'll have a great time making your way through it
stardew valley will stay alive for years
Amogus. Sorry, I had to say it.
I downloaded Y's viii last night. 60% off right now. Oh, wait. It's not February. But still, seems like it's going to be a good game.
